Calvin Christian School is a good school with great religious foundational beliefs however they struggle to keep faculty for more than 1 year and are always hiring new people and principals which makes finding a groove and seeing a clear vision for the school very difficult.
This school has made some AMAZING changes in the past year! This is a great place to go to school. The students are more connected than ever, teachers genuinely care about their students, the facilities are great, and student events, festivals, and dances are always super fun. For a small school, they have a large selection of clubs, sports, and classes and have a lot of involvement. It’s a great place to connect with other Christians while also getting a top notch education.
We have our three kids at Calvin and they love it. The staff is great with the kids, and they feel safe and loved. They focus on teaching the liberal arts from a Christ-centered perspective which has been great for our children. One of our favorite things at the school is that they emphasize the community. We have gotten to know a lot of parents and staff through these events. If you are looking for a Christian education and community in North County, we highly recommend Calvin.
I had an excellent experience at Calvin Christian High School. For a small, private school, there is a wide range of activities to get involved in. Try new things. Get involved. Make a difference in someone's life...it might just change your life, too.
I've gone to Calvin since I was in Kindergarten, and I've had a great experience there. I like that it's a small school and you can connect with each of the teachers personally and be taught from a Christian perspective.
We have been very pleased with Calvin Christian school for children. Not only have they received a top-notch academic program, but have been able to be involved in many extracurricular opportunities.
The school is very small, and it really is great for having a close relationship with teachers. The teachers care about you and the student community is very tight and everyone helps each other out. The curriculum is very tough and in my opinion it's very close to having AP level classes for everything. The workload is good and it really will prepare you for the amount of work that you will face in college.
Academics here at Calvin Christian are far more rigorous and college readiness is a main priority for all teachers and faculty at the school. Sports are a great experience , but due to the size of the school not all sports are at the top competing levels. There is an excellent sense of close knit community at Calvin Christian, and family involvement is shown all throughout the school. All in all Calvin Christian is an excellent school that provides an excellent environment for children to grow and thrive academically and provide them skills for the future.
Calvin has been a huge blessing for us. Our kids went to middle and high school here after being extremely frustrated with other public and private schools, where we live. The teachers are amazing and the administration is top notch. They have an excellent extracurricular programs, especially when you consider the size of the school. Music, drama, sports, clubs are all on a very high level. Because it is a small school, some of the AP and honors classes are limited, but they really try hard to offer as many as possible. My kids were very well prepared for college. The writing and math skills are taught at the highest level here. Loved our experience at Calvin!
It is good for a small school, but is limited due to its size. There is not a lot of diversity because some students there are the third generation to attend.
Great school! I have attended here for 5 years now and it is very challenging and prepares well for college. The people are nice and the programs are good.
The school's personal feel and strong academics set it apart from others. I wouldn't want to go to another school.
There are secure policies on the campus. Plans are in place for special measures, and cameras are in place.
There are a decent variety of extracurricular opportunities at the school considering the amount of students. There is a book club, 3D printing club, christians in action club, yearbook club, swim club, and different sports to choose from.
I clearly learned a lot in high school.
Easy to get involved and participate.
