CCHS is such a great place to learn! The teachers care about the students and take the time to get to know who they are and guide them in the process of growing as people. In addition, Calvin has great extracurriculars, from athletics and arts to robotics and Model UN. Their athletics teams frequently go far in regional competitions against larger schools and receive all-academic awards; their Robotics program made it to the State Finals in its first year of existence; the Band and Orchestra programs received straight A's in Festival; the Chorale received a nearly-perfect score and a perfect score (119/120 and 90/90); and several students have received first- or second-honors awards for excellence in representing their countries in Model UN. Most of all, CCHS prepares you for college. They offer many college courses, and the workload, though tougher, prepares you for your workload in college. Overall, it's a really good school!
I love the teachers and falculty that works at this school! The teachers are always there to support students and the genuinely care about their well-being. There are many chances to get involved too! New clubs keep springing up and they offer wonderful outlets to talented students. Their athletic programs reflect the hard work put in by the coaches and young student athletes. Calvin’s theater program is top-notch and spurs meaningful thought and conversation as it brings the community together through performing. Calvin also encourages students to find a faith that is their own. There are always people who are willing to pray with and for students! I would definitely recommend if anyone is looking for a place to call home!
Great place to send your kids. The community at CCHS is one of a kind. Very happy my parents sent me here as the teachers/academics really prepared me well for college and taught me how to have an exceptional work ethic, which is key moving forward in life. I loved the athletics at CCHS as I was and still am very competitive. It pushed me to be my best and also was a great atmosphere for comradery and spending time with friends/classmates outside of school. There is definitely a large presence of faith within all aspects at Calvin too. Couldn't have asked for a better high school experience. Go Squires.
