Amazing environment and teachers. Being in school during the pandemic is great for learning. Students are just as kind as the staff.
Great School! I love the student environment throughout the school. The school has many great opportunities to learn about the Jesus.
I like it, I got a great Christian education that has helped me as I went on to college. No changes I can see, just be prepared for a Christian led education.
I came to Calvary in sixth grade, and it honestly has changed my life. In my almost seven years of being enrolled, I have grown closer to God and my fellow students, learning so much. I have always felt welcomed by both students and staff. Something we could improve upon would be having a janitorial staff working throughout the day, as well as possibly organizing school events better, with staff actively involved in students' lives. Although Calvary has done well in the latter portion thus far, maybe students uncomfortable with talking would be better handled with a formal staff member for this job in particular.
Overall, my experience was great. Since it is small, it is easy to make friends and to form relationships.
My experience so far at Calvary Christian School has been a very fallacious. The school doesn't care about it's students at all, and most of the students are simple-minded. This one student I know finished with a 2.0 GPA one year. Despite being a Christian school there is a lot of procreative deviance in this environment. A lot of the teachers are ghoulish, but there are a few exceptional teachers in this school. However, they are few and far between. Our facility is extremely lacking in standard features. We have one hallway, and has not enough space for around 100 students. We spend $10,000 in tuition, and our school has nothing to show for it. We don't have a janitor because it is too expensive. Our bathrooms are filled with mold, and our sunken ceiling is falling apart. This school's administration has no idea what it is doing. Save your money and avoid at all costs.
New principle & administration is incredibly experienced and knowledgeable on how to effectively run a school. Academics and teachers are improving, as well as student population and diversity. The Athletic Director is excellent and uses the little that he has very well. He was able to get the school into competitive league and hire great coaches.
What I love about Calvary Christian School is the safety and well-being of the school. Being somebody who used to attend public school, I really felt comfortable attending Calvary Christian School because the overall goal of this school promoted educational excellence, potential within every student, and Christ-centered goals. While I attended Calvary Christian School, I could tell that my teachers really cared about me and my education. When I was nine years old, I remember one time when I had a hard time making friends that one of my teachers would always talk with me during lunch. Personally, that meant the world to me. My overall experience at Calvary Christian School is an experience that I will never regret or ever forget.
Calvary gave me life long friends and i will always be grateful for that. However the high school building itself leaves a lot to be desired considering it’s a single hallway so not enough room for the students. The academics aren’t great, the teachers are a mix of young and old a majority of which have children enrolled in the school or are involved with the church in some capacity, so expect favoritism. There are sports and if your good at them you’ll thrive here, if your not...you most likely won’t as there really aren’t other ways to get involved or enjoy yourself or win the favor of the administration. It is a majority white school and as the kids here are mostly in a bubble and share the same ideas views, it will not be easy for you if you are different in any way.
I've been here since 2nd grade and all through elementary and middle school I loved being here but once I got into the high school things began to change. The high school is very disorganized and the the administration is the main cause of that. They are obsessed with being in charge and they don't know what their doing. Although I like having been with my same friends since I was little and growing very close, the high school itself I dislike.
I've been attending this school for many years. The elementary and the middle school is a wonderful place to grow up, but the high school is a nightmare. The administration is terrible, the school itself is a joke (its located inside of a sketchy business complex and is only one hallway and barely has room for all its students). They charge a lot for tuition but can hardly afford anything (we lack many educational tools and can't even pay a janitor so its never clean). They have a few sports but if your not interested in them, well, there's really not much else to do. The teachers are pretty good and put up with a lot from their seemingly idiot bosses. I don't know why anyone would want to work here, but I really respect the teachers that do because clearly they have a passion for what they are doing otherwise no one would tolerate these condition. I could go on for pages about the horrors that hide behind the "christian atmosphere" but this is the gist.
Calvary Christian School is a great environment for students who want to grow as a Christian, and the teachers there care about their students and want to see them succeed both academically and spiritually.
My experience at Calvary Christian School was unique because it provided students the necessary education needed for college as well as an education by discipleship. The school motto is educating the mind and discipling the heart.
It offers quite a few extracurriculars for being open for only a few years
being part of the first graduating class gave me a whole new outlook on the school and allowed me to enjoy it to the fullest
The teachers were really willing to take the time to understand their students and work help them to the best of their abilities
Mix of teachers who are have excellent teaching style and others who just get by.
