this is the WORST “christian” school in tennessee!! if you don’t start there in preK then you won’t fit in and they will all make fun of you and judge you! they treat the kids like crap and most of the teachers can’t stand working there and it shows! they still talk badly about my child even tho she hasn’t gone there in years. she was so unhappy because of how poorly she was treated there. they make them pay $10 an hr to do a detention and clean the school because they can’t afford to get it cleaned on its own! i wouldn’t send my children there ever again!!
With being a small school there isn't many options for extracurricular activities. While I attended Calvary, you could either pick between Yearbook, Sign Language, and Creative Writing. I took two years of Sign Language and loved it! After school activities consist of either volleyball or basketball games.
I think the school is safe, but with is being a small Christian school, we do not have a guard or school nurse. The door in the main school building are locked from the outside and during class changes different teachers stand by the door to let people in. In the school office you may obtain medicine and have your temperature checked. We do have fire drills every so often as well.
I think Calvary is a great school! I love love that fact that it is small so everyone knows everyone. Every year the school takes the senior on a mission trip to another country for two weeks. For my senior trip we went to Peru and that was one of the greatest experiences of my life! I also love that our school competes in the TACS competitions where I won many awards in craft, drawing, photography, and singing.
When I went to Calvary, I loved and had great teachers! They were all very caring and helpful. I was sick a lot during those two years and a lot of times the teachers would let me stay after school to make up work and/or would help me understand what we were doing with lessons I had missed. The teachers there not only care about your academics but also your relationship with Christ and encourage you spiritually. Many teachers lead by example and have greatly impacted my life.
This schools administration isn't equipped to run an educational facility.
