I loved going here! Such a welcoming environment and positive influence on my life. I genuinely felt seen, heard, cared for, and prepared. I was really involved in the offered extra-curriculars and reflect on my time in high school as one of the best in my life... how many people can say that about their high school experience?
I liked how the teachers built relationships with their students and invested a lot of time into their education.
I loved Calvary Chapel High School! Directly connected to the Calvary Chapel Church, this school makes it's top priority to educate it's students and to maintain a loving environment grounded in Christianity. From the staff to the clubs, this school is full of love and devotion to every one of it's members. Growing up there was an overall great experience, and I highly recommend this high school to any parents who desire to have their children taught by an institution that loves it's students and God.
For someone who has been attending this school since kindergarten, all the way to graduation next month, I have a lot to say. Calvary was full of judgment from teachers and administration. Things were constantly said behind your back and beachside it is such a small school, it always got back to you. Hopefully, the chancellor, principle, and administration will take a break this quarantine and change their ways for the future of their students
I am in their private school program and they do an amazing job helping everyone and supplying the help all high schoolers need to graduate on time and have fun while doing it.
Scary amount of indoctrination and fear mongering within the school. It is not just learning about the bible its about extreme conservative politics and no acceptance.
Went here from K-12 (starting in 1987). My 2 older brothers went there and even my 2 nieces for a few years until they could not afford it. The school is now all uniform (was not when I went there and I wish it was then). We attended a bible study once a week and bible class. The sport activities were awesome, I played softball, volleyball, basketball & soccer. I like that fact that is a smaller school and graduating class, so you do get to know more people. The only thing to look out for is that a lot of parents tend to send their troubled kids there which really affects the sweet kids who have no bad back-round. Though these things are everywhere, its more apparent in a small school. They offer a work program to help pay tuition, my dad and i would go clean the school on weekends. I was also able to work on a weekend to help raise money for sport outfits and needs. The teachers were not the best in regards to knowledge (AP not really a main focus here).
Christ is always the center and God is glorified in education. There is no shortage on resources. I feel that the best education is given from gifts teachers who want to use their knowledge and abilities to strengthen God's children.
It is obvious that the teachers want what is best for the students and they respond. Calvary Chapel teachers are the most dedicated, encouraging, loving and talented group of teachers I have ever seen. The school environment is wrapped in an atmosphere of God's love. It is contagious. Students make lifetime friendships here. For my son, this was the BEST CHOICE.
My child has been attending Calvary for 6 years. The campus is clean and safe. The teachers and administrators truly care for the children and are highly visible and communicate well with families. There are many school spirit activities that bring the students together. The sports programs are amazing. School sports start in 6th grade. We have won basketball, volleyball and soccer championships in the last few years in Junior High. The weekly chapels are engaging and tackle hard issues and hot topics that are age appropriate. The curriculum is challenging and the teachers present the material in various ways to make sure everyone understands and succeeds. They offer advanced classes. I am very satisfied knowing that my child is getting a strong, Christian education. We plan to keep her there through High School.
Calvary Chapel Schools (Maranatha Christian Academy Elementary School) is a wonderful place for students to grow and learn in a safe and caring environment. Our 3 children attend this school. We have been loved and embraced like family. I know that the highly trained teachers and staff are doing all they can to provide the best learning environment possibly for my family. Scholarships and discounts are made available for those who financially need them. This school is very welcoming to people seeking a solid, conservative, and comprehensive education.
I thoroughly enjoyed my high school experience at Calvary Chapel. I appreciated the love and dedication of the CCHS faculty the most. Teachers and administrators seek to develop a relationship with all students, dedicating themselves daily to shape each individual into the man or woman they are called to be. AP academics allow students to push themselves to the next level and think outside the box. Athletics and student-led clubs provide the opportunity for all to explore their passions, no matter what they might be. As a current university student, I felt quite prepared for the rigor that accompanies a college education.
The course of my past four years at Calvary Chapel High School has been a world wind of change, discovery, and learning more about who I am as a person. Of course, there were the good times during my high school expirence, which included spending time with friends, going to the homecoming dances, dressing up for Spieit Week, and enjoying the fun atmosphere of our Pep Rallies. There was also the bad times, struggling during the long nights, studying or dealing with my own personal issues. I can testify to my own self that I went through a very dark timedueing my high school years where I neeeded new change and perspective. Fortunalty, this school brought it for me. While Calvary Chapel High School has its flaws like any other school does, I can truly say this place not only creates a special learning environment for its students, but it was the one place I knew I needed to be in order to grow up and be prepared for the real world that comes with being a young adult.
I have been going to this school since Kindergarten, I have enjoyed the diversity and the Christian atmosphere. Just recently there has been a lot of growth in both the campus and the student life here at Calvary. It is very exciting, I cannot wait to see the new and amazing changes that this school will bring to new and seasoned students.
Calvary Chapel High School prepared me academically for college and gave me the faith foundation necessary to stand firm in a secular higher-educational environment. The teachers create personal relationships with their students and care enough to put in the effort to assist them in succeeding. School spirit is phenomenal and athletic prestige is only growing. The food served in the 'cafeteria' is delicious as well. Because of Calvary's smaller size, it is possible to be involved in everything you want to be involved in. Students can participate in numerous clubs, take AP classes, play in varsity sports, work jobs, and grow in the relationships and friendships they pursue.
I made good friends, was able to travel to foreign countries on missions, was able to take dual enrollment college courses, and had a wonderfully fun senior year.
Calvary Chapel Schools had significant impact on my life. The academics, school culture, student life, and extracurriculars were easily above average, but that's not why it's had such an impact. It was the teachers, staff, and Biblical worldview that so impressed me. I never felt like a number or statistic. I was known and valued - and that made all the difference.
I love the loving atmosphere on campus and within the church! I transferred in my Junior year for wrestling, and this school has welcomed me in with open arms. Ive spent the past two years here and its really cool tha everyone knows each other. It’s a small school with less than 500 kids total and very different than public school.
Calvary Chapel High School was a crazy but amazing experience. High school is a very important and hard time for a lot of kids and this school and its faculty makes sure that the students are prepped for life. The teachers are incredibly involved in the student's academic life and more often than not stay after and come before school hours to help the kids with assignments and grades.
Calvary has a very interesting plan of academics with new teachers every year filling in for the previous teacher who did not do a well job of teaching, as for serving its purpose as a Christ-centered school it does well but in academics most students would agree the teachers lack and in sports most coaches lack as well.
