More teacher and admin involvement is needed for students. Overall, the safety and diversity at this school is very good. Everyone´s experiences are different, and mine at this school was below average. My main problem with this school is its counselors and faculty. Instead of acting as a support system to encourage students to pursue their academic interests, they restrict them. My counselor a few years ago wouldn´t let me choose a science class since ¨the district didn´t allow it,¨ but other students my grade were allowed to have as many science classes as they can. The counselors are very picky and are almost never helpful. At least this school has a decent school culture and involvement with clubs and activities. This school also doesn´t handle its controversies very well. Cal high has been on the news for a number of things; ranging from racist writing in the bathroom, to school shooting and bomb threats.

California high school is a relatively wealthy high school with a lot of resources, providing a lot of computers in classes, respectable and informative teachers backed by a tough and strict selection of administration officers. There are a wide variety of career pathways for students to follow from engineering to dance. Cal High also has several AP classes for students aiming to go the extra mile. One issue surrounding the school is its population. Extra study classrooms have been turned into classrooms due to a necessary need for more space with all of the new students flooding in. Overall California high school is a better than average school which provides a very good education for students aiming to go into a university nearby or anywhere around the world.
I enjoyed the atmosphere of California High School. I felt they had great facilities, great bathrooms when they aren't littered with graffiti, which they usually are. I found this in the arts and sports of cal high. I was a soccer player for my high school and participated in theatre as well. As far as campus culture, however, this is where my school definitely lacked. I believe that in this technology age, finding a meaningful sense of community has been tainted. The very thing that connects us the most, the internet, is actually what divides our school the most. Through all the scandals at this school, they have all been very public and posted everywhere. Most people that bore witness to these acts did not feel they had to do anything. Overall 8/10 due to this. Everything else was great.
