I enjoyed being able to be open with some of the staff. The staff that really showed they cared and made being at school less stressful are sadly being let go.
California High School has a variety of clubs and organizations. Most people can feel involved. A majority of the teachers are great, but a few are not. Many dual credit classes are offered to upper-level students to help them get a headstart to their college education.
I personally have never had a problem with anyone whether that be staff or other students. The counselors are very helpful and the teachers are nice and supportive.
I love the small town feeling. They offer several opportunities for duel college credits. The town gets several donations from our local businesses to support the school and students.
Unexpected high respect from others regarding international students. Welcoming alumni and enough facilities.
I think our school is very diverse and has many different options to help student get to where they want to go but i also feel that there is too much negativity amongst the students. So many of them are made fun of make fun of others and nobody has done anything to stop it.
All of the teacher care about student's success, and school spirit is a big deal. All dual credit teachers take their classes very seriously and want students to be as prepared for college as possible. The school has lots of scholarship opportunities. They are also one to one with students each having a school issued laptop.
California High School has great opportunities for students. There is a lot of school pride especially during Friday night football. I do wish that their were more extra curricular for students because many could show off their talents, but we do not have the curricular that interests them.
I enjoy the personal relationships that I am able to form with teachers and staff members. The school size is small enough to allow students to create life-long bonds. However, I would like for a physical education class to not be required. Having to change in and out of sweaty clothes is unpleasant.
California High School like any place in life is a product of what you make it. That being said, the teachers and supporting staff of this school make growing as a student and person easy and comfortable. While teenagers fight their way through their personal battle their are many dedicated and supportive staff there to help guide them through the process.
Its easy to know everyone, class sizes are perfect, but the school can be super cliquey if you dont have the right name
Overall, California High School provided me with a great experience. The teachers are very helpful and want their students to succeed. The environment is outstanding. Students respect one another for the most part and although bullying is an issue, it isn't as bad as other schools. One thing that I believe California High School could improve on college readiness. Providing students with more classes that ready them for college, and more classes that will transfer as college credit.
Having the support of teachers and parents are what makes this school stand out. They really do have a “no child left behind” motto. They assess students individually and facilitate a plan that reflects their ability, areas of interest, and self determination.
California High School offers many different clubs and organizations for the student body. In addition to clubs and organizations, California High School offers excellent courses with great teachers. Students have a great opportunity to engage in a 1-on-1 conversation with teachers. Other than academics, California High School offers great athletic programs, including football, volleyball, basketball, baseball, and many more. California High School has state-of-the-art athletic facilities on campus for athletic and community use. California High School has been by home for the past four years and I wouldn't want to spend time at any other school.
California High is the average small-town high school. There are about 100 students per grade so you're sure to know everyone and the teachers all know you by name. Everyone townwide is crazy about the sports. Homecoming and courtwarming are basically a holiday at this school.
California High School is what I would call a typical small-town school. There are a good amount of opportunities for students to be involved in activities. For the most part, the teachers at California are very pleasant and easy to work with. They enjoy what they do and they make their students enjoy learning. There are limited opportunities for advanced students to really stretch their abilities and challenge themselves. It is getting better about that, though. Overall, California High School is a pleasant place to learn and prepare for college.
One thing that I like about California High School is the smallness of it. One thing that I would like to see changed is more support for all athletics.
