My experience at this school had its highs and lows. There were good teachers and bad teachers, well-taught courses and "waste of time" courses, diversity but not always respected, and people who were there for you, but only for a season. Coming to this high school taught me so many valuable lessons that regardless of how difficult it was to move through them at the time, I am ultimately grateful for them. Being a high school senior, I now understand that high school is about finding out who you are, so you are ready to experience even more in the next chapter that comes after graduation. Even though I can honestly say that Calhoun High School is not the best, I can still continue to thank it for making me who I am.
I have gone to Calhoun High School for my whole high school life. It has helped me learn a lot, as well as grow as an individual. At Calhoun High School, we are very fortunate to have very up to date resources to help us get the education we deserve. Being involved definitely helps one's high school career at Calhoun High School due to how much fun each of the extracurricular activities is. The drama department, the band, and the sports teams are all very well and have great directors. I do not think I would have liked any other school better than Calhoun High School.
Calhoun has good competitive academics and sports. Football gets the most attention and money. The negative side is that Calhoun can tend to be very clique-y. There are non-clique people though. From a Christian perspective, saying you are a Christian but not walking the walk is prevalent.
