Two years ago I read of the Calexico Mission School in a church newsletter. I was moved to begin making monthly donations in support of the worthy student fund. Then, in October 2018, while on a business trip to Los Angeles, I decided to rent a car and visit the school unannounced, to see for myself how the school was doing. The facility had excellent security, was immaculately clean. The staff was cordial and I had opportunity to visit with several students while awaiting to see the head of finance or principal (both tied up in meetings). The students were unbelievably respectful, polite, sang the praises of their teachers and the school, shared their dreams beyond graduation. I was so blown away by what I found that I returned home committed to increasing my monthly contributions to this school.
I had such a great year at Calexico Mission School. I learned a lot this year and also I made new friends. Teachers are very helpful and they're a very friendly.
In my experience with Calexico Mission School all these years from attending from fourth grade to now my Senior year, has been excellent. All these years I've been there, they've helped me a lot into growing into the person I've become. I have nothing but good things to say except that their college readiness could improve and so could their clubs and activities. Some years ago they had may different clubs in which students could sign up and express themselves in which they could, but they sadly took that away. If the administration could possibly bring back any club that could be added into a students transcript would help a lot in a students college journey. Aside from what they could improve, Calexico Mission School teachers and students have this special connection that I've never seen before and is rare. They care about each other in a way that you could call the school a family.
CMS gave me the tools to prepare for college, I had professors that cared about me and my future. I was able to practice both Spanish, English. I was able to be part of the choir, and got to visit other schools.
Not really clean, but it tries to be.
It's pretty average, but the school management is a nighmare.
We only serve Vegan food, and is always clean and good. No junk food.
We are a small school we dont have that many clubs, but sports are what unite us the most.
I've made so many friends here, activities are amazing and we all know each other. I would chose this school again because it has opened doors for me everywhere and it has helped me and my brother learn more English.
We have free dress in our school. Of course, there are some rules to it but although, what I find over the line is the policy of no sunglasses (unless prescribed by a doctor). We live in a desert, how could the school not allow sunglasses? So far, I have not experienced or seen bullying. Office staff is okay. My teachers are great.
I'm glad their is sports and they offer my sport which is Tennis (I did not join this year because I wanted to join clubs). But so far no club interest me, the only club I joined was Heart and Soul. In that club we made donations to the needy. Yes it was a good experience but I was looking forward to an art club perhaps. I would of join even a science or eco club. I believe there is an eco club but maybe I did not notice it (If I would of noticed I would on joined). Most popular sport is football, basketball, and cheer-leading. Most popular clubs are MESA and Drama Club.
It is a great school the faculty their are amazing they are always comprehensive. They want the students to achieve great things and help you out if you ask them. The facilities are great too the classes are very clean, big and with air-conditioner. I love it here especially the way they teach you about God and help you have a better connection with him.
One of the best teachers. They care about students and are always willing to help others.
