Throughout my experience attending Calexico High School, I believe I have liked it and have enjoyed it. I have learned many things and that is not mentioning the academic part. This school is next to the border next to Mexico and well, most of us are Hispanic. Since I'm also Hispanic, I feel cozy and in a family feeling. Teachers are nice, they try their best to teach the most of what they know, and finally, the community that surrounds the school is not only a feeling of community but a family. There are some things that could improve such as hygiene in the campus and security. However, if I'm focused on my school and others are, there will be no problems.

My experience at Calexico High School is one that I’ll never forget. As a recent 2019 graduate, I was provided with all the tools needed to succeed and be accepted in the school of my dreams, UC Davis. In the history of Calexico High School, my class has been the largest class of 693 graduates, which to me is a very extraordinary achievement. One of the things I would like to see change is the motivation from counselors and staff towards those students that seem to need an extra push. Only AP students are motivated enough to attend a good college/university, those considered average students are not pushed to go somewhere else than our local community college.
Calexico High School was a weird school to be in. It is in the desert so everything is hot. Classes are not that great, but teachers do their jobs. The classes are a bit old, and almost all the classes are trailers. Other than that and the lunch food not being all the great, i have to say that this is one of the coolest schools i´ve gone to. We have a lot of school spirit and everyone ends up showing up to the basketball games, football or any games that have to do with sports. I´m currently in the drumline, the best in the valley, and we perform for the games that take place on the gym. Everyone here has a role in this school. They say that high school is the time were you make memories, and there is no better memories I have that are not at the High school. They closed open campus for everyone in 2019, and now we just have to deal with the school food. Overall, im pretty happy on the fact that I come to Calexico High School.
