Academically this is one of the most outstanding schools in the state. The administrators are some of the most amazing people you will probably ever meet. They genuinely want to help and see every last student succeed. Since Covid they entire Shelby county system has done nothing but be understanding and helpful in so many way to students and to admin. But like any other school we also have our downfalls and things that we need to work on. I feel as if they lack in the preparation of mentally preparing their students for anything. So because of this issue our principles came together with the counselors and decided to do something about it, they’re opening an organization to have students see exactly what life after high school would be like. Overall this school has helped me in more ways then one. Anytime I had a problem I could always depend on being able to talk to someone.
While I still attend Calera High School, it is the most organized and diverse school you could attend in the Shelby county area. The faculty cares about you and helping you. They think about what is best for you, when making schedules changes. Overall while attending this school, I love everything about this school. I also played varsity softball here at Calera High, it is the best sports environment I have ever been in.
I have been attending Calera High School since August 2015. This school has shown me the differences in a lot of people from character, attitude, etc. Calera High is a very welcoming and protected school. The faculty and staff does everything they can to make sure the students feel as if they are at home. Calera provides students with great learning techniques. The athletics here are great! The electives are very fun to be a part of they allow students to express themselves in many ways with given opportunities to do things they love and prepare them for their career in the future.
