Overall, Caledonia is a great environment, although liking Caledonia depends on your personality. It is a very large school so you won’t see yourself being known by all. Caledonia offers many different academic experiences and provides a healthy and fun competition as fighting Scots!
Nice buildings! But there’s way too much frivolous spending on sports and televisions while plenty of classes and programs operate with little to no funding. Also students have to fight to get school support and there’s little to hold bullies accountable for their actions. Also far too much racism, homophobia, and transphobia among the students and staff.
Caledonia High School was a good high school overall. I never had a day there where I felt scared or unsafe to go to school. The academics are great it's just a matter of if the students want to do good in their studies. I would say the only think lacking form the district is diversity, which can effect someone's readiness for the world and how to handle, deal with, or relate to people that are different from you or your experiences. There is alot of parent involvement which is great, but sometimes too much that there's are two community facebook , called the "Caledonia Babble" and the "Caledonia Community Chatter". Which sometimes causes alot of gossip throughout the high school. I would say the best thing though about this school is how the community is always in support of trying to provide the best for it students!
