The best part about Calamus Wheatland High School are the faculty and instructors. They care about you and they want you to succeed. They do an excellent job of preparing you for post-secondary education by providing access and showing you online resources. Technology is also plays a major role in education at this school. Every student in 7-12 building has access to a school Macbook. This rids the use of scheduling conflicts of computer labs. Sports and extracurricular activities are also a good way to get connected with other students. Extracurricular activities include speech, band, theatre, and choir. Classroom sizes are small which allows teachers to give each student more attention and help. Overall, my experience here has been nothing but positive and I encourage any family moving into this area to enroll their student at the Calamus Wheatland High School.
This school is overall a fairly good school but there are issues I stuggled with, with sexism and there wete minimal actions taken and administration was a part of the sexism.
I loved going to Calamus Wheatland High school because the teachers are great and help in anyway they can. The counselor there is great!!! He helps in getting ready for college and or getting jobs after school. Calamus Wheatland High is a great school with small class number.
Generally, Calamus-Wheatland High School is a great school for any student. While the school remains in a dominantly white area and the diversity is slim. The school offers the opportunities to be a part of a multitude of clubs, sports, and extracurriculars. Most teachers care greatly for each individual student and attempt to create a bond and get to know them on a personal level. The administration is also very kind and friendly. The school has a strong Fine Arts program and great directors and teachers, but those teachers are often underappreciated and underrepresented when it comes to funding and school policies. Some teachers and most of the administrations do have favorites, and those favorites are on the sports teams. Special treatment is something that affects the student body greatly. Overall Calamus-Wheatland High School has been a welcoming experience.
My experience at Calamus Wheatland High School has been awesome. I love the small school feel and knowing all my classmates names. I also find people at this school to be very nice and inviting to new students.
There are many opportunities for people who want to get involved in a club or sports.
I love Calamus Wheatland because the teachers and students are really nice and our classes only have 40 students in it.
The teachers at my school are very helpful to struggling students and do there best to help keep students grades up.
There are a wide variety of classes to choose from in scheduling beyond the required classes. The teachers are very supportive to our students.
A wide variety of activities are available to choose from and participate in.
This school is a very good fit for my children. There are some scheduling conflicts with classes and the arts but I am sure all schools have issues here. For example, my student could not take accounting and band. She had to choose one.
All teachers here are knowledgeable about their subjects as well as helpful and approachable when a student or parents have questions.
I enjoy the events I am in but sometimes I feel like some core classes shouldn't be needed for everyone because we are not all going into the same types of fields for our future careers. I get along with most teachers and I like the variety of teaching methods.
There is great rigor in the curriculum.
A local sheriff deputy visits almost daily. It feels very safe.
It has a lot of opportunities for all students.
I've never had a problem with the academics.
