Caesar Rodney High School provide a career track that allowed me to focus on my career goal of Elementary Education. This opportunity gave me access to several highly qualified teachers that inspired me to learn and gain the tools to become a successful teacher who inspires. I choose to attend Millersville University because Millersville is a step in pursuing my career as an educator. Millersville began as a teacher’s college in 1855 and today is a leader in teacher training developing exceptional educators including my mentor, Dr. Sherry Kijowski. Dr. Kijowski is Principal of Caesar Rodney High School and her support each year and accessibility to her students are characteristics that I want to emulate. I learned to develop a teaching style that extends beyond the classroom. This is the philosophy of the teachers from Caesar Rodney and my exposure to them made me a better student.
Caesar Rodney High School has helped me a lot during my education. The teachers want you to succeed, but will not just let you take the easy way out. I do wish some of the classes were more challenging, but I have been academically successful and have learned a lot.
As for the atmosphere, many students show little interest in learning. There are often fights in the hallway and the bathrooms are always trashed. It isn't uncommon to catch students doing harmful things to the school.
Even though the students are irresponsible, the staff does everything they can to keep the school safe for everyone and motivate success.

Caesar Rodney high school was a wonderful environment for me throughout my 4 years there. It was filled with positivity that was provided by the staff and the students attending. I was well taken care of by many teachers and staff members and always felt confident going to them with issues I had. Of course the schools not perfect but through time i’ve witnessed many changes to rules, attitudes and traditions that morphed the schools environment for the better. I had a great time attending this school and creating bounds with my peers along with my amazing teachers so cared so deeply for their students. There were so many different activities and opportunities that could help jumpstart my career in the future and helped me grow into the person i am now. Overall Caesar Rodney high school was an amazing school and I am very lucky to have had the opportunity to attend.
