My Cactus Shadows experience was pretty good,I made a lot of friends, and participated in the amazing sports teams.
Cactus Shadows is a great school to attend. In terms of education, they offer many classes to help you prepare for college and to discover your future career such as business, culinary, or sports medicine. They offer many levels of classes such as AP, IB, or honors. I've been lucky to have the opportunity to take these types of classes and get the college class experience while still in high school. In terms of sports and clubs, they offer many different options for students such as lacrosse, basketball, and HOSA. The sports at Cactus Shadows are competitive and taken seriously by the coaches and players which sets teams up for success. The clubs are diverse and students can even make their own clubs as long as they have a sponsor. Overall, Cactus Shadows is an excellent school to attend.
Its a great environment for learning with knowledgeable teachers and people who care about the students success during high school and beyond. The guidance dept. is excellent in helping students apply for college
I love Cactus Shadows High School!! I have attended the schools in the district since Kindergarten. The teachers, students and faculty are all my second family and I am going to miss it when I am gone. I am grateful that I had the opportunity to learn and grow with the best school out there! Cactus Shadows has great school spirit from the students and parents. That is one of my favorite things! I will never forget the energy on the track when cheering for the Falcon football games and basketball games. There is nothing like it!!
I moved here my junior year, and my experience has not been the best. I find the staff to be very disorganized and the people very closed off.
Overall, I had a good experience. The school has about 2000 students, and although it was somewhat big, I was able to have a close group of friends. I have had some really good teachers and was able to take some college credit courses and AP.
I like how nice everyone is and how the teachers want to help you learn more. They devote all of their time into helping their students everyday.
It was really easy to establish a connection with my teachers. I had a full support system of teachers, counselors, and an on-campus psychologist. My sophomore year was the most challenging year for me, but I am grateful for the AP and Honors opportunities I received.
I started out my experience with fantastic teachers that all left the following year. Administration was a continual pain to work with and the IB program was horrible and hanging by a thread. The Chinese language program was okay for a while, but they struggled to keep a Chinese teacher.
I have loved every second I’ve spent at this school. The teachers are amazing, and the student body creates a fantastic atmosphere.
What I liked the best about Cactus Shadows is how big of a campus the school is. The buildings are organized by field (for example, all math classes are in one building, etc..). This is a school that does not prepare you for college and has zero diversity.
Staff is hit or miss at best. The hits make up for the misses! Sadly I have had three different principles and two deans of students in my four years at Cactus Shadows. The overall environment is relatively depressing but there are few highlights where morale is higher (i.e homecoming and spirit weeks).
There are a lot of great aspects about Cactus Shadows HS, such as the majority of the teacher staff. Some of my favorite teachers are here, and I'm grateful to have had them. There is also the opportunity to join a multitude of clubs, or even make your own. Some things could be better, however, such as particular teachers or front office staff that did little to help the students. But overall I think this high school is just like any other and the environment is mostly dependent on the student body and your experience with that.
What I liked about Cactus Shadows is the students and teachers there are nice and most of the time understanding. If a teacher saw you were struggling they would come up to you and always try and help you. When meeting the teachers they always tell you everything you need to know with positive attitudes no matter how early it is. The students are respectful and nice when you first meet and if you're new to the campus they will most likely greet and befriend you. They give you many options and opportunities to help you move onto life. One of the opportunities is they are partnered up with a technical school called EVIT which will also offer up many classes that are hands on. Cactus Shadows is a good school but it obviously has it's flaws and one of the flaws is the textbooks. Most of their textbooks are outdated or are very worn out from the past years. Another thing I would change would be to give them new technology like more laptops. They have laptops but not enough for everyone.
I had a pretty good experience overall with Cactus Shadows High School. I made some of friends and the majority if students were nice towards me. Just as it is with every school, I had some teachers I didn't like, but I also had teachers that I liked very much and they helped me a lot with my classes. They handle situations very poorly however.
I enjoyed being a part of cactus shadows. I made friends and played varsity basketball. However when it came to academics it was really challenging, and not just for me. It wasn't challenging in the aspect of material, but more teaching. It didn't matter how much office hours I went to or anything. They kept bringing in new teachers with different ways of teaching and it left us all in the dust. It forced some kids to leave the school. Our gpas fell and they didn't give us options to try to raise it. It was 85% test and the rest assignments and was basically impossible unless your a whiz.
I feel it is a good school. There are a lot of teachers who really care about helping you. I enjoyed my time there.
