I was in the Humanities and International Studies Program (HISP). HISP is a program that introduces its students to a variety of different world views, including the non-Western perspective. HISP challenges its students with a heavier workload that is more complex. The teachers in HISP are very knowledgeable about their respective subject, and they are very motivated and dedicated to their students. Outside of HISP there are some very knowledgeable and dedicated teachers, but they are harder to come by. The administration was not very helpful; they did the bare minimum. If you wanted to get things done, go to a teacher.

I would consider this a very comfortable environment for students to be in, there are many helpful staff and resources offered at the school. Along with many educational programs that specialize in a certain field and that will further students education and challenge them in different criteria. It is a very diverse school and has staff members and teachers of different ethnicities and is welcoming to everyone, also has a lot of cultural clubs for most ethnicities and or cultures.
I went into my high school experience expecting it to be the best four years of my life. C K McClatchy High School helped me find some of my best friends, some of the best teachers, and helped to expand my love for swimming. But, overall, C K McClatchy High School is not a good school. The district (SCUSD) that C K McClatchy High School is a part of has been under constant scandals since I started my education in a SCUSD elementary school. When your administration has their eyes of one day being a part of those in power, they will act according to their malicious actions of the district. The people in power at C K McClatchy High School did not care about the students, only their careers. But, this is not to discredit the people who attend and work at C K McClatchy High School. You will meet some of the best people in the Sacramento area at C K McClatchy High School because of how diverse it is. It's not only diverse racially, but socio-economically, sexuality, gender identity, etc.
