Senior year could have been better, and they needed a better teaching staff in most subjects. They seemed to not care about how students felt on most topics. They also had a hard time listening to complaints or criticism.
My experience was that overall the teachers and staff lacked the knowledge and training to provide a holistic education or any degree of individualized support. The objective of the school seems to be wrapped up in promoting an idea of prestige and the idea that the school provides a superior learning environment when in reality the Butte public schools offer a wider variety of subjects, approaches and resources.
I like Butte Central because of the atmosphere, it’s small and you get more one on one action. You know everyone you go to school with. Everyone has your back and wants you to be successful.
I liked Butte Central Catholic High School because of the small class sizes and the athletic programs.
I really like the laid back environment. I like that all the classes are small so that it's easier to talk to teachers and get help on stuff that you dont understand. Every teacher knows every student. I like that it's a small school. One thing I would like to see change are some of the rules
Butte Central has given me the opportunity to grow in my relationship with God. Devoted teachers and great staff have made sure that I have received a great education, and fellow students have made my high school experience different than most. Since it is a small school, I am tight with everyone there and everyone there is a great person.
Butte Central Catholic High School is not a big school, which I enjoy. Everyone knows everyone and the teachers help one on one. I also really enjoy playing sports there, the coaches are all there for you and help you out a lot. However there are some things that I would change, like the handbook rules. For instance; dress code, the rules don't apply to everyone, and it changes about every day. Another thing I dislike is the ten day rule because medical excuses don't actually excuse you from one of your ten days you are allowed to miss. Central is a very nice school but like every school there are some things that need to be fixed.
I like all of the interaction between the students, the teachers, and the close circle that everyone knows you and what kind of person you are. The teachers do everything they can to make sure that your education is the best that they can give and the top of what we are capable of. Most of the students are friends with each other and treat each other like family. The things that could change is that the school could do better at spending their money and use it to give the teachers the materials that they absolutely need to give us the education that every student deserves. The school could push their teachers to do better on their education to yet further our education. The administration should be more responsible and make choices on the schools gain and not their own. The amount of college readiness that the students go through is very little even though the teachers do all that they can to make sure the students have what they need to go out on their own into the world.
BC is a long-standing school in our community. Parental involvement is excellent. It is difficult to attract top-tier teachers as salaries are low. Being a private school makes it difficult to have numerous clubs and activities.
The small school environment provided me with strong friendships starting in kindergarten lasting all through high school, also allowing me to fully know everyone in my class. Another benefit of small class sizes was the teacher involvement. You get to know all the teachers very well and develop a relationship where they care about your education, you as a person, and what to see you succeed in all that you do. With Central being a Catholic high school it allows students to not only grow academically but also spiritually. I think this makes Central students' high school experiences unique from others. Although there are aspects that I would like to see change, I couldn't imagine my high school experience anywhere else and the relationships and education that I have developed wouldn't have been the same.
I really haven't had much experience with utilizing the school nurse during my years at Central. I did however utilize our athletic trainer for sporting activities and injuries. There are rules and policies concerning bullying and personal safety that are addressed throughout the school year.
There are many opportunities available for the students to join extra-curricular activities as well as sports. Most all students participate in activities. The staff at our school are widely involved as well in what the students are doing and are very supportive of us.
I have enjoying my experience at Butte Central Catholic Schools. I attended Butte Central Elementary, Central Junior High as well as Butte Central high School. I have made memories and enjoyed numerous experiences that I would not ever trade. I have made lifetime friends. We have a great sense of unity and tradition at our school. Many of parents and grandparents have attended school here as well. Everyone is supportive of each other. The one thing I have enjoyed most was my football career and making it to the State Championship game last year. The community support that we had was awesome.
Butte Central offers a great deal of extracurricular activities that students can participate in. Key Club is one of the most popular clubs. We provide service to the community and also help raise money for the school. The school also offers after school activists such as band, choir and play practice.
My overall high school experience has been phonominal, which may at times sound odd. Since my school is so small, it has allowed everyone to know one another, as if we were a family. This being my favorite thing about my school, however another great thing about it is the one on one interaction with the teachers. It enables students to get more help if needed, and the teachers are willing to do whatever it takes to help and improve their student's education.
Attending a school with 140 students overall had allowed each and every one of us to grow close with our teachers and staff. It has given the opportunity to have more one on one interaction, which allows students to get help on their own time in order to learn and be successful.
Teachers at Butte Central are great. All teacher exhibit compassion and care for all students and are always fair.
