My school is quite amazing, though small and personable the staff welcomes everyone with open arms. With small classes, our teachers can provide 1 on 1 lesson to each student. Dealing with covid has been difficult but they have never given up on trying to keep the student body entertained and happy. Because of this, they have gained a sense of normalcy in such hard times.
It is a wonderful school. You will make a lot of friends. The teachers are very dedicated to helping their students.
Good school and good teachers. Very rural. Community is heavily involved. Can slack off and still do well.
Butler County High is jus a small farm town school. We’re kinda like the runt of the litter when it comes to surrounding schools. It hasn’t been a bad experience here, it’s jus what I would call average
I don't go to school here but, I did not see a Home School option. I do participate in the Butler County Young Republicans Club which has its meetings at Butler County High School. I am involved in 4-H which is next to Butler County High School so, I am able to socialize with other high school students who go to Butler County High School.
All my teachers have been great, but I would like to see a wider ranger of classes offered. Some of the classes, I think, are a little too easy and could be more challenging as well.
What I like about Butler County High School is that we, the students, are able to choose our electives. What I would like to change in my school is lunch. During lunch, we only have 20 minutes to get our food, find a seat, eat our lunch, and throw it away. I don't have enough hands to count how many times I have waited in the lunch line for 15 minutes just for them to run out of food so I have to go and wait in another line. I wish our school would gives more time, atleast 30 minutes.
Most of the teachers do their job well. There aren't any special study options
There's not a lot of ethnic/racial diversity. Mostly Caucasian country kids. There has begun to be more diversity with sexual orientation though
I would choose this school again if I had to do it over. Most teachers care as long as you put in the effort, and the people are generally nice
The teacher are the best about school they are all so nice and welcoming. The curriculum they teacher is what we need to know and they teach it very well. When you make your schedule it's fairly easy, but then they put you in classes you didn't sign up for and its hat to change it. The workload is very easy. You rarely have homework unless it's math or science. The most popular classes would be FFA classes or FCS classes.
I feel safe at school but it could be a lot safer in many ways. We have now added new safety features such as all new locks and a new entry way. We have a armed cop there at all times. We do have a school nurse. To go to the nurse you must have a nurse pass. We also have a health department and resource center.
At this school they offer several extracurricular activities ranging from sports to gamers club. I would say we have something for everyone. Our clubs and organizations include: FCCLA, BETA, FFA, FBLA, pep club, gamers club, science club, Spanish club, HOSA, FCA, skills USA. I would say the most popular is FCCLA and FFA. Our administration supports each and every one of these extracurricular activities.
All of my teachers have went above and beyond to make sure not only I succeed but my peers do as well. They are always welcoming, nice, helpful, and practical. They make sure to to teach not only the requiremented topics but also how they can help you in the future. They make sure to include technology in their lesson plans and to use hands on activities to learn the curriculum. The teachers always have great knowledge and understanding of the topic they are teaching, which helps students learn better. All of my teachers want to see all students succeed. I have always felt comfortable talking with all my teachers they are very approachable and easy to talk to. All teachers would stay after school for extra help or let you contact them after school. Over all my teachers have done an excellent job preparing me for my future colleg education and career.
Bullying is an issue in a small school like this I believe it will always be an issue but I believe they are doing as much as they can to prevent it. Other than that they enforce the safety lock doors and visitor badges strongly. And we always have an officer there at all times.
Band is the most popular with our numbers way above average, as a 2a school our band has the typical amount or more of students at a 5a school. The band was even invited to go to Disney world this spring to march in one of disneys parades and we plan to attend if enough people can afford to attend. Our poor volleyball team is a joke if even mentioned in our district they struggle to keep or even get a coach. Some programs thrive while others are forgotten.
We come from a county of little money therefore the school struggles to even get us items like desks, I think this is why the teachers have a strong dedication to each student they are very involved and try very hard to give us clubs and programs we otherwise would not be able to have a lot of teachers even use there own money to fund some school clubs and organizations. Teaching styles differ a lot according to each teacher. Consistency in grading is actually a real problem we come from a small town and a lot of teachers pick favorites according to the students last names.
