Burnsville High School Reviews
Rating 3.55 out of 5 560 reviews
Burnsville High School is the avergae public school in Minnesota. Compared to the schools around it, it is known as "poor" or even called more derogatory names than that. However, from my experience, it was sometimes the opposite. It was a good experience to go to a school with vast diversity and that has taught me a lot. Also, our school is not poor visually, and we had all the equiptment and facilities that we needed to learn and they were generally very nice and up to par. I learned a lot while being there, and I took advantage of the AP and CIS courses avaliable. The only issue with the school is the administration. While I acknowledge that it must be hard to do their jobs, our administration is typically never on top of things, disorganized, and overall run poorly. From a students view and seeing my mothers view, the biggest problem with this school is a lack of control, lack of organization, and lack of understanding with the students.
Worst part of Burnsville high school is the crowded hallway after every period. All the students stands in the hallway after every period to talk to their friend and it’s hard when you are trying to go to class but the hallways are always crowded. The worst party is also some kids that can’t say the n word saying it everyday. They always say it like it’s part of their dictionary and it’s getting tiring. There are also a lot of fights at Burnsville. One day last year we had a day that contained 6 fight in one day and a lot of people got hurt. The bathrooms are also dirty. The bathrooms are always dirty. The best part is that Burnsville high school is becoming a really cultured school and there are different people with different cultures coming from around the world and we can get to know those people and learn about different cultures other than your own culture.
I wouldn't change my schooling experience at ISD 191. I have been in this district since kindergarten. We have some issues at the High School, whether it's semi-regular fights or gun threats. Despite the faults, most teachers genuinely care about their students. We have honest, upfront teachers that don't try to blind us to the reality of the struggles the school faces. The faculty is friendly and trying their best to prepare us for our futures. We have numerous pathways and options for free college credits too. Like every school, Burnsville has its faults, but there are truly incredible people here that make it worth it.
