Burns High School of Lawndale, NC is where I attended. My experience with this particular high school has been great. One thing that stands out to me the most is how diverse the school. I am a minority in the little town of lawndale and I do not feel out of place in my community. This school is very welcoming to everyone regardless of their background, race, ethnicity, and background. Also, Burns High School provides different clubs, sports, and other extracurricular for students like me to participate in. I play for the women's soccer team, marching band, and excel club. All these things I've enjoyed and it also gives me the opportunity to work with others. There is one thing I would like this school to improve on is student-adult partnership programs. It would be great if we can strengthen the relationship between students and the staff to discuss about any struggle one might have. This school is wonderful in that it is diverse and the many extracurricular that is provided.
my experience there was great and had lots of fun memories with my friends and teachers, one thing i would like to change is maybe the food and more activities/clubs
We have awesome teachers and staff. I have spent my four years attending and I have been in yearbook and sports med. it’s nothing that I can say that I don’t like about my high school.
I’ve been at Burns High my three years of high school and it’s been great, I wouldn’t want to transfer to a different school. We are big on agriculture which includes FFA, our sports are doing better this year and everyone is actually really involved here.
I like the small community where Burns is located. There is lots of support for the school, its events and athletics. Inside the school I felt that same small community of support. Students and staff are supportive of the students. With less than 1000 students I felt supported in order to excel and be a leader.
The academics at Burns High School are pretty good. They offer a lot of regular, honors, AP, and CCP class options. Most of the teachers are nice and very good at their job. The music and arts departments are very good considering the meager amount of money they get for funding. If I could change anything about Burns High School, it would be the lunch periods. We are only allowed eighteen minutes to eat and it takes most of the kids at least half that time to get through the lunch line to get their food. Everything else other than that is either average or pretty good.
For many years we have a saying "Once a Bulldog Always a Bulldog". This makes me really happy to go this school, i love it. The energy, environment, education is all great. Teachers have a really good connection with the students.
Throughout my years here at Burns I have learned what it means to be a bulldog. To have pride and understand that everyone in my community has a purpose. All of the administrators here at Burns will help the students strive to graduate with the best intentions. I plan on raising my kids around lawndale and making sure they go here.
Burns High School is home to many wonderful teachers that go out of their way in order to get their student's success. Courses are well developed and relatively diversified.
Honestly don't send your kids here, the administration doesn't care about them and will leave your emails unopened. Students here are treated as if they are children, not young adults. Homeschooling is a better option than this absolute dump of an education system. They ignore helpful insite, and insult you when you try to make a point. I wish to see a better administrative team. Most of the staff are decent, but for the most part the majority probably shouldn't be teachers.
I have had an excellent time at Burns High School. With exceptional teachers and staff. They really helped me prepare for college.
My children have had a very positive experience during their high school years at Burns High School. They have had excellent teachers who have helped them become the young people they are today.
Burns High School has a strong family, community feel about it. I have always felt cared for while attending!
Burns High school is one of the greatest schools in the county. The school will receive all of their students equally, no matter how the student looks or comes from. The administration will always have their doors open for ALL of the student body. You can always count on them to help with your problems. The main thing I would change is the budget that the school relieves. Out of all the schools in the county, Burns High School is always the last one to be considered for an increase in budget.
Most faculty members are friendly. Opportunities are limited because of how schedules are created and what classes are offered.
Burns High School is amazing. The teachers and the staff were care and know what they're doing. The Coaches and Teachers are kind and encouraging. Also very patient. There are lots of people here to help you and get you the resources you need. Burns High isn't just a school. It's more like a family. Most people will help you anyway they can.
My experience at Burns has been one of the best experiences of my life. Burns High School provides some of the best educational trips of your life and gives you friendships that will last a lifetime. The educational experience is amazing as well. You have so many opportunities to broaden your education. Burns High School well prepares you for the future and many educational obstacles you may face.
