Burke County High School is where I spent my four years of schooling. Overall, I would say it is an average high school. I like most about the school is the academics. Teachers here like to make learning fun and memorable. My dislikes would be that the school focuses on football probably more than any other area of the school.
I like that Burke County High School teachers and staff always encourage and motivated students to learn and get their education and become whatever they want to be. I would like to see changes in the schools supplies. Supplies such as up to date study books.
BCHS is an awesome school to attend. However, it would be better if students could get a chance to voice their opinions, or have more variety of clubs and activities. The resources are awesome. Students have at least 3 days to finish past due assignments. It is very diverse. Also, BCHS allows students to take dual enrollment classes. Dual Enroolment is a program that allows students to take general classes at a college, which gives a head start on their college career.
I’m a senior at Burke County Highschool. I’ve loved every aspect of this school. They have a very strong community and also a real passion for the students who attend. This school is very big on student involvement and activities. They prepare you for college because of the many resources and classes they have available. This school is relatively safe for both students, staff, and faculty. They do extensive exercises and drills regularly to ensure the safety of all. Burke County Highschool overall is a great place for a education for grades 9-12.
This school has a lot of supportive teachers and administrators who sincerely desire their students to succeed and have access to career and leadership opportunities. It would be nice for more AP classes to be available so that students can take rigorous courses at their high school in addition to dual enrollment classes.
I love the family-oriented experience at BCHS. Everyone sticks together for each other and for our school. The admin and teachers are very supportive and helpful just like family. Down to the custodians and lunch ladies, everyone at BCHS is wonderful and the education is great!
The BCHS engineering course pathway is very poorly managed. In my time there, we had three different engineering teachers, with two of them being football coaches with priorities outside the classroom. Other than that, the school is infamous for guidance counselors offering little guidance, and the school's administration enforces unreasonable limitations on AP coursework, which has a limited selection to begin with. Also, IB courses are unheard of and the football team takes priority over all other student organizations.
My experience at Burke County was pretty great. I only wished they would worry more about teaching and the education of students and less about dress code.
Many faculty members have poor attitudes and are not helpful in planning post-graduation steps for students. The school is disorganized. Their priority is mainly the football team. The principle and AP's care about individual student success, but many teachers and other faculty throughout the school do not seem enthused to be teaching and guiding tomorrow's leaders. Average school lacking in student & parent input, as well as efficient management.
I love the opportunities that this school provides. There is something for everyone who goes here and it allows people to express themselves in a free way.
my school is a great public school super great facility and the best of teachers we also have so many wonderful programs food program could be better
Very accommodating to all community residents of Burke county . It is an honor to wear black and blue in the stands at each game where everyone can come together. However , they like to focus on the kids clothing and sending them home rather than how they are doing academically.
Burke County High School offered a variety of courses throughout my years as a student, including many dual enrollment classes, which has significantly increased my college preparation in many ways. However, I would like to see more AP and IB classes reinstated at the school, more communication with dually enrolled students regarding high school deadlines and activities, and less favoritism shown by faculty members. I would also like to see less underclassmen being pushed to take more dual enrollment classes before experiencing high school courses, as it could negatively affect their future GPAs and college applications.

When I went to Burke County High school, I had the best experience. The teachers are always there to help you out when you need it. They stay after school just to help you out if you need ir, which was really great. Also, they have many different sports for you to try out for.
