Burgettstown High School is a very small school. I am currently a senior with 106 students in my graduating class. Everyone knows everyone. The English Department at Burgettstown is excellent. My English teachers have prepared me for college next year. However, I would like to see a change in the Math Department. I believe it is poor and not doing a great job at preparing us for college.

My experience of Burgettstown Area Middle/High School is fairly good. I have had a few issues with peers each year being there is not much diversity. The english programs is the most helpful and educational. To me personally, I believe the science and math programs could be better.
The year I left Burgettstown they were in serious debt. This school's education system was poor as well as it's money management skills. We had little to no funds for notebooks, pencils, or even paper. The schools funds were misplaced and poorly handled.

The education was beyond lacking. Some of the teachers didn't even teach. A lot of them seemed to just give us work, but give us no instruction or teach us anything of value. I always felt that I was just trying to make the grade, and I never felt that I was learning besides in a few of my classes where the teachers did care about my education.

The discipline at the school was also poor. Every day I'd see someone bullied in the hallway, and sometimes even see the teachers bully the students. My last year there was full of fights as well as students being caught with drugs. I believe the discipline system could have been handled a lot better than how it was being handled.
