My experience at Bunker Hill High school has been an overall great experience. Despite our school being one of the oldest buildings around our small town many are still thankful for the education we receive.
As a current senior, soon to be graduate, BHHS was an excellent example of a place to grow. With varying choices from College Prep, Advanced Placement, and Career & College Promise courses a lot of flexibility was given to us. The teachers are very inspiring and are very involved with each student at the school. Administration, although strict at times was an exemplary set of faculty with high student involvement, development, and discipline.
The teachers are inspiring and they do they're job well. The classes are fine. I wish the school system was more alert on higher curriculum or opportunities. I don't like how the school levels their classes by eight classes, four per semester. Sometimes I'm not able to keep up with my math classes because I have to wait until second semester to do them, which conflicted me when I had to do ACTs and SATs. The school system overall did not help me get the level of education I wanted. Maybe I just didn't fight for it enough, but I just wish I knew more about the classes that were required to get into the college I wanted.
As a family with three generations who have attended this high school, I have seen the school ebb and flow. This is especially evident with having children that are separated by 7 grades. Generally the academics are good and the sports programs also. My children have excelled in the academics offered, but when the first attended a large state university, she was challenged and you might even say behind the general student.
Overall, Bunker Hill High School is a good school. Most of the teachers are great and very helpful. It would be nice if more courses were offered and if there was better student life.
There wasn't a lot of room for growth at this school. The teacher's mainly taught lackluster lesson plans to get you through their class as fast as possible without giving consideration for student's varying learning abilities. Not to mention the overall safety concern. I saw a boy get beat up in the cafeteria and the nearby teachers just stood and watched. You don't feel safe there as a student.
I am a former student of BHHS and a business student who was placed at the office I work (schools) as a Coop student. I was in FBLA went to compete at state and nationals. To this day I still volunteer and serve on committees and sporting events, even after 35 yrs being gone. Have always loved this school and it was the best times of my life and educational background. The principal is all in it for the students of the school, he cares about them and how their life is going, the community and the county. We may be a small school but with a lot of heart and great programs at our school.
They work hard to promote school spirit and take their academics seriously to ensure that every student has the opportunity to reach their highest potential.
At Bunker Hill there are many good things and many bad things just like at every school. One good thing at Bunker Hill is that there is a safe environment in and around school and that the majority of teachers are willing to help you to the best of their ability. A bad thing is all the school rules that are not needed in the school system
I loved the variety of clubs and activities. I wish they would give more recognition to some activities and sports. Such as marching band and color guard.
Bunker Hill isn't a top school but the teachers are really great and the learning opportunities are for the honors students are really good. The college opportunities are very limited along with parent involvement.
The school is decent. The academics overall are lackluster. There are a few exceptions, however, for teachers that are suited for far better schools. William Farnsworth and wife Lindsey are far and away the best teachers I have ever had the privilege to study under. I also had other teachers that I enjoyed learning from, primarily my other English teacher Leaann Norton or my Weight Training coach Michael Mays.
the school is very good , it is accessible it made me feel like home because its very diversify and I meet many people form my county and I learned a lot about the others culture. the school made me learn a lot of new subjects
So far it's been a fun ride, although there have been obstacles that the school has had to get through, I can tell that our school has grown stronger and I can tell that there are many more improvements coming!
My experience at Bunker Hill High School was average. It was not as big compared to my previous high school. I found that one of my teachers didn't seem to care for their students.
It’s a great school with a wide range of classes. They have sports and other extracurricular activities. Sometimes you think the teachers don’t care because of the way they act toward you but all in all this is a pretty good school.
My high school experience at Bunker Hill High School has been a challenge. I have always wanted to have a different experience just to see what it was like somewhere else. I never had the opportunity to. I am very active in my church and I see no god anywhere in my school. There is no common courtesy among the student body. Although this a big problem one of my favorite things about my school is the teachers. I have become really close with most of them and they have taught me awesome things about life and always pushed me to meet my goals. Between the pros and cons I honestly think they even each other out. Overall my school is okay but could use some improvements.
