Our family has been at Bullis for 9 years now, our child started in the 3rd grade. So, we have experienced all three divisions: Lower, Middle, and Upper School. What stands out in all divisions is the excellent quality of the teachers and the academic programming: teachers are caring, meet the student where they are; they challenge the kids, push them to reach higher, expand their horizons; they are creative - learning is not just book-learning, it is interactive, deep, hands-on, and therefore exciting for the kids.
Balance is a huge focus at Bullis: kids are able to be athletes and participate in the fantastic visual & performing arts program (musical, Jazz Band, pit orchestra, art studio, tech crew, etc.) at the same time. I love that my child who is more focused on academics and music, also has the ability to participate in a Varsity sport.
Bullis has truly become our second home over the year - the community couldn't be more welcoming and warm.

Bullis is a wonderful academic environment that is focused on ensuring that all students have the chance and ability to go to college. The staff and faculty are wonderful people who are mostly invested in the students and the school. The student population is more diverse than other places, but lacks representation in some areas. There are an array of sports and other non-athletic activities available for students to participate in to follow what they are passionate about.
Diversity is segregated between sports and academics. Throughout the school, there is a great academic program and the facilities are phenomenal, yet there are a lot of flaws in the school administration system.
