Buford High School is a very good school. I would recommend it over other schools in the Gwinnett County area. It is a public school in Gwinnett but if you do not live in Buford city, you will pay an out of district cost. I was a transfer student and my parents paid for out of district for two years and then we moved into the district of Buford. I definitely feel like I benefited from transferring from my last school. Our principal had a strong code of ethics and with no tolerance for any drug, alcohol, bullying, any type of weapons and more. Graduated and happy with the classes, courses, and friends made along the way. Now here I come Georgia Southern University!
I have been apart of the Buford City Schools district since 2nd grade. I loved Buford City Schools from 2nd to 8th grade, but once you get to the high school, everything changes. The other students aren't disciplined if they pay money to the higher up people in the community. They can get away with terrible things unlike me. This also happens with the sports teams, like tennis. It is pay to play. No one is positioned based off of skill, they are positioned best off of how much money they pay the coaches. They are literally violating some of the Georgia High School Association rules. The worst part is, no one is stopping them. Everyone is turning a blind eye to it. The only reason why I have stayed is that their academic program is excellent and prepares you for college.
