Buford High School is one of the best high schools in Georgia for a variety of reasons. Many in Buford refer to it as a "college campus" due to its grandiose design, but more importantly, the school's "Triple-A Excellence" exceeds expectations. Buford High is the top AP school in Georgia, and it covers all costs for AP testing so that all students, regardless of socioeconomic background, can have a chance to excel academically and show their efforts. The high school's high-quality education extends to more than just its AP classes, however, as they pull from a pool of the best teachers in the nation, including the teachers of their numerous career tech pathways. Its arts offerings are also incredible, with a variety of theater, dance, and art classes, while the athletic programs are very competitive, with all but one team making it to their championship in the 2022 school year. Overall, an amazing experience. Go Wolves!
Buford City Schools has one of the top Academic ratings in the state, and that is the truth! Their teachers and educators have been phenomenal, in every school in the system! However when it comes to the sports programs, if you are not the coaches pick, then you get to sit. No matter what your level of skill is or what grade you are in, if you are not favored by the coach, then you don't get to play. This is happening in more than one sport! Also, whenever any of the Faculty members disagree with how they are being instructed to run things. Or when the Leadership attempts to discipline certain teachers, with legitimate reasons, or disagrees with the Board, the Board fires them at will, and within 4 years they have had 5 High School Principals. This school system is being dictated by the Board of Education, regardless of how well their Leadership is doing and it isn't right!
I love Buford High School because not only does this school allow you to demonstrate excellence in Academics, but also Athletics, and the Arts. Buford High School has high standards and pushes their students to meet them whether it be in the classroom, on the field, or on the stage. The Buford community is welcoming and actively strives to help those around them. I love Buford High School. Go wolves!
