Just for reference, I am a higher end student, who took many AP and honors courses. Students at the lower end of the spectrum may have differing experiences. Nevertheless, I found that many of my teachers were motivated when teaching their students. There definitely is diversity at this school, but it still feels very gentrified. For students who are motivated, this is a great school. Counselors often recommend certain classes, whether it be normal, AP, or dual credit, depending on what you want to do when you graduate. The food is above average, I never had problems with it. This probably varies class-to-class, but I never found issues with bullying. I never participated in music or arts so I can't speak for that department. The school has also been very responsible with it's response to COVID-19; if it lets students in-person, those students can be assured they are taken care of.

Looking back at these past 4 years, I have really loved high school, which a lot of that is owed to BGHS itself. When you walk into school, there is always something going on to make the environment more positive, whether that means therapy dogs coming in during finals, decked out hallways during homecoming week, and so much more. Most of our staff are very supporting and want to make their students the most successful they can be. Safety is also a very large priority at our school, with having to show our IDs everyday when we walk into school and multiple police officers always on campus. On the other hand, I do feel our school pressures students to take on heavy course loads and as well as lots of extracurricular activities, which has led to a ton of stress-filled nights throughout the years. Overall, I do believe BGHS has given me the best high school education possible and I am proud to call myself a bison!
As my final year at Buffalo Grove High School winds down I realize how fortunate I am to have been able to attend such a great school. I feel the teachers really care about you and the classes are meet to challenge you at whatever fit your standards. Sports and clubs are great and people take real pride in what they do. The school is clean and I feel it has prepared me extremely well for college. I have made tons of memories throughout my years that I would never chance. As for COVID-19 our school and district is doing all it can to help the students and community. Overall Buffalo Grove has been a great school for me!
