My experience at Buffalo Grove High School was very engaging. Like many students there, I’m involved in multiple activities and sports that are great programs, as well as the academics being well planned for a student’s pathway. The teachers push students to drive to do their absolute best in their work and in school, and the counselors guide them throughout all four years and prepare them for college. There are numerous events throughout the year that students and staff can get involved in such as football games, homecoming, prom, volunteering, and so much more. This allows students to engage with one another and form strong, everlasting bonds. Throughout each year, the administration implements new features to Buffalo Grove High School to prioritize education, involvement, and safety. Buffalo Grove High School has been a great experience for me and has, and will continue, to prepare the future lives of many high school students, and create many unforgettable teenage memories too.
Buffalo Grove High School provided me with so many opportunities and good memories. There were many AP and dual-credit classes available to me, which covered almost all of my college general education requirements. The teachers were kind, students were friendly, and there was a welcoming atmosphere. There were also many extracurricular activities to get involved in. Overall, I loved my time at BG.
While this school has developed over the years and has a good student environment, when it comes to the opportunities for college, it doesn't meet up to par. There are limited number of courses you are allowed to take in a year, with no opportunity of advancement either during the school year or summer school. Teachers and counselors do not seem to care about the careers or college readiness of the student. The more the academic restrictions are placed, the more the school rating will go down since students are unable to achieve their desired goals.
