Both of my now highschoolers went to Buena Vista middle school.
While middle school is a tough time I felt that the mentorship of the teachers as well as the leadership of Mr. Tarallo really help them through a difficult period in life.
The school provides many clubs and opportunities for the kids to interact and grow. It's just a matter of whether your kid chooses to participate.

At this age there can be much peer pressure to not be involved for fear of being judged by a club or group you associate with.
The School is small enough to ensure that your student gets a quality education yet big enough to provide some pretty amazing experiences.
Science camp and the 8th Gr DC trip or two huge growth areas that parents poor a lot of their heart and soul into making happen.

Overall a decent environment for the middle school years. Looking back as a junior in high school the teachers were extremely helpful and in many cases good role models to look after. The sports are above par, especially with a gym riddled with championship banners.
Two teachers, Kelly Baraki and Lori Calderon manipulated children into thinking they were part of the lgbtq community. Very bad. Do not recommend
