I have never had a lot of support from home but the faculty at BHS has gone out of their way to support me.
I moved out of my parents house and I was struggling. Some of the teacher came together to help fund raise and collect things like dishes and soap to help me live on my own. They presented these gifts for my birthday, they all signed a card and even bought me a cake.
The teachers have formed such a strong and caring community and I feel incredibly lucky to have grown up in such a beautiful town.
The school is great in terms of environment, academics, food, etc. but the love they have shown me could never be matched or outdone by such superficial things.

I love the small town, closeness Bucksport high school has to offer. The community, staff and students are very supportive on and off school grounds. You're likely to see a lot of the staff and students supporting various extra curricular activities and student accomplishments. All of the staff is very understanding and willing to assist students with everything they need. They're always pushing you toward success. I would love to see Bucksport able to offer more classes and reinstate a "meet the deadline" type of curriculum.
Bucksport High School is a smaller high school with around 350 students. I appreciate this because within a small school, it is easier to make connections with everyone. Something I really appreciate about the school is the staff. They are down to earth and it is so easy to get help. If you fall behind the staff will do whatever they can to motivate you and even stay after school with you. You can tell that the teachers actually like working here-- it's not like they're doing it for the paycheck. They care about each individual that walk through those doors.
