What I love most about Buckeye Central is the growing STEAM program. We currently have a new STEAM lab where there are 3D printers, poster printers, a cricket, and even a heat press. The staff does their best to incorporate all of these things into their lessons. For example, the interior design class will 3D model little pieces of furniture for there mini room project. Another thing that happens in the STEAM lab is robotics. I am currently on the robotics team and I love it. I made some amazing friends and have learned a lot. I also learned a lot about myself, like that I am interested in engineering. I also discovered that I love 3D modeling and I want to be an architect. Furthermore, Buckeye Central and its amazing programs have enabled me to discover new things, expand my interests, and incorporate those interests into my future.
Buckeye Central High School is more than just a school. Here you are connected with your classmates and teachers as if they are all family. I never go a day without feeling cared for and appreciated because of how helpful and amazing all the people here are. Our teachers are always willing to help you accomplish whatever it is that you want to. For example, this year I wanted to start Hometown Hero banners for our community and my teaches never hesitated to let me do it and to help me with it. Even though there is not a lot of diversity in a small town, I would not trade going to Buckeye Central for anything. I have been pushed to grow both academically and as a person each and every day. At all of my basketball games the stands are always full of staff, students, and community members because of the amazing support we have here. I absolutely love Buckeye Central and it will forever have a special place in my heart.
My experience at Buckeye was somewhat sheltered. Overall there is a great community of staff and students that thrive for excellence, but where they excel in academics they lack in the social aspect of the school. Considering that I am a double minority, things were difficult for me and there was not really anyone there to talk to about my experiences since there is barely anyone here who is like myself. Mental health is also something that this school kind of glances over at times and I don't like that. I still have enjoyed my time here though and would consider it for other students.
