Buchanan high school gave me the opportunities and experiences to be prepared for life outside of college. Their plethora of programs allowed me to expand my knowledge and skills in athletics, academics, and career pursuits. High school is never an easy time of life for most students, but buchanan high school tried their best to ensure that every student have an equal stand and chances of success. I would not have wanted to be apart of any other high school! Go Bears!

I loved being a student at Buchanan. The teachers were wonderful! However with regards to co-curricular activities, I think that there should have been more of an emphasis on the STEM programs such as robotics and the science fair. As a former athlete and current engineering major, I wish I would have have received more information on those other activities because it would have better prepared me for my career.
Buchanan High School has developed a very dignified image for itself whether that be because of it's high level of academics or top tier performance in sports the standards are high. Buchanan shines in these aspects and does not, in my opinion, have flaws. The school culture however is very white oriented. Although many attempts have been made such as the Latino student success conference and Asian student success, they have not taken into account those who are in disapproval. Rather, those who speak without censorship. More than once have there been cases of racial discrimination at school as well as out of school. People are led by example. By not taking proper disciplinary actions you let those who voice such a pessimistic opinion continue a cycle of racism by spreading their ideals. Buchanan must take these situations more seriously by implementing more severe punishments and educating the culprits.
