The academics and opportunities given during my schooling here were excellent. The arts, academics, and sports are the best you will find and you will have life long friendships with the students and even the staff. The one thing about this school is that the teachers are very hit or miss. There will be some teachers who are extremely supportive and some of the best people you will meet, but then there will be other teachers who will go out of their way to be rude to you and even put your grade at risk because they don't want to do their job. The faculty does a good job of addressing and fixing the issues if enough people complain about the teacher, though. In my four years of going here, I have had about 5 teachers who were problematic and almost ruined my experience. Everything else about this school was excellent and made my high school years great. Shout out to Mr. Vigardt, Ms. Romero, and Ms. Rossino for being awesome! :)
Brookwood is a great school. Teachers have been supportive and helpful whenever I have needed them! I have particularly enjoyed the theater program. I have had the opportunity to meet a variety of people, learn about acting, stage craft, performing, and how to run a sound system. Participation in the theater program has helped me to become more confident. One thing I would have liked better was communication with students. As well, many parts of the school are very dated. They are adding buildings to account for the large number of students (4000), but areas like the theater are very outdated. Putting information in one, clearly identified space would have helped me feel like I knew what was going on. I feel truly lucky that Brookwood took the time and effort to create a prom experience for my classmates and me this year. While normally it is held at a fancy venue, parents, teachers, and administrators worked really hard to give us a safe, fun, and memorable experience on campus.
Brookwood was a very welcoming, patriotic and spirited school! The involvement of teacher’s in student’s lives was outstanding and overall great. It was very easy to get to know other people and connect with them. Teachers were very understanding and had great ways of teaching. They made themselves available to students, which was something I really liked.
