Brooklyn Technical High School is amazing! Sure it is mainly Eastern Asian but, as a student there, I can vouch that the community is very diverse. There are many people of many different cultures, like Hispanics, Muslims, Jews, Jamaicans and so many more. Brooklyn Tech really has an amazing vibe. The teachers are really great. Many of them are really easy going and definitely know what they are teaching. Many of my own teachers, especially my AP Calculus BC teacher has put in so much work for his students to all receive the highest grade possible. Each teacher is super enthusiastic to teach and will care about the students beyond the classroom. I, myself, trust each teacher and am very comfortable talking to any of my teachers about anything. I see our relationship more as friends, but of course professor and student in the classroom. Students are definitely safe in the school. Deans and security guards are always on their toes and will confront anyone who is causing trouble.

Brooklyn Technical Highschool teachers prepared me for the workload that would follow during my college career. While teachers expected students to prioritize grades, they understood when family emergencies occurred and allowed me to catch up on work. Brooklyn Technical Highschool should work harder to accommodate students that come from a diverse background and may not have the most straightforward college application process. Although it is clear the college guidance counselors are well intended, they are not educated and provided with enough resources to aid international and undocumented students. Furthermore, they should increase a focus on scholarships that students can apply for because due to the diversity of the student body, not all students have the resources to pay for universities.
Brooklyn Tech gives students the chance to "major" in a field of study, ranging from biological science to architecture to law. These academic opportunities allow students to dive deep into subjects they find interesting. Brooklyn Tech is extremely diverse and inclusive of all types of people. The overwhelming support given by fellow students, as well as staff, so far makes the entire high school experience fun and exciting. The hundreds of clubs at this school give students the ability to socialize with people who share similar hobbies and interests. Teachers work tirelessly to ensure the students understand all the material. Guidance counselors assist students every step of the way. Whether it may be questions about schedules or college, guidance counselors can always be relied on to help students as best they can. The academic opportunities, promotion of socialization, support from staff, and overall inclusiveness makes going to Brooklyn Tech an unforgettable experience.
