On of the Bronx's finest schools! Teaches their kids to reach for the stars and once they get there aim higher. Priding its self on DREAM BIG values, of (discipline, respect, accountability) just to name a few . Its a very big school in a urban setting defying the odds. Minority students being recognized from different parts of the United States for there achievements in Speech &Debate. Bronx Preparatory gives off a homely vibe and the sense of enjoyment. The students are eager to learn and the teachers are eager to teach. The amount of recognition and praise the students get from extracurricular's make learning effortless.

Since I first entered the school back when we used to have a 5th grade, school used to be so fun. I wouldn't wake up and think about going to school. School was where I wanted to be everyday. As we got older, our school rating began to decline and they had to call in Democracy Prep to help the school not be in jeopardy of shutting down. Since then, school has been very hard to keep up with. Many students are doing better, however we are supposed to fit standards that are not realistic for every student, thus making it difficult for many of the students to do well in school.
Bronx Prep is a school that I have mixed feelings about. I am extremely grateful for all the opportunities they have provided with my college readiness class, that helped me apply for college and applying for financial aid. They also have the Carrera program here that helps students apply for scholarships and jobs in summer youth. The teachers push the students to their limits here with lengthy assignments and difficult curriculum. There is one side of me that is thankful that I have grown accustomed to difficulty, and another that dislikes the school for the massive workload they don't hesitate to give us. The only thing negative I can say about the school is that the environment is not the best, however it is not really the fault of the school since it is mainly the students that make it this way. The school has no control over how students behave, and threatening them with detentions or its "Deductions" system is not very beneficial.
