Many wonderful teachers going above and beyond to make this a great school for our kids! It is a great transition for kids coming from elementary school and getting ready for the upper grades of middle school. There are many fun clubs and activities after school. The music programs are amazing.
They have achieved cult status in an authoritarian application of a "peace" philosophy. This philosophy works well for those who go along without question, but the rest are sentenced to an educational (re-educational?) gulag. I know of families that are having trouble here because the focus is on the so-called Kingian Peace initiative rather than academic achievement
There teaching of peace do not work they way the want them do. I don’t know if I’m aloud to say this but kids get in fights all the time sometimes Violent with kids getting hurt. The school teachers handle this amazing and most of the kids are ok and know not to do that. But the kids that don’t know how to not be violent are not getting the help they need. There just being taught that they need to have peace and nonviolence which does not work. On the other hand there are great people at this school and my kids been there for 2 years and she has lots of friends kids are really never made fun of unless it’s in a joking way and when it not the teachers take good care of it.
