Smaller class sizes give the students a more personalized learning experiance. The administration works very hard to preserve this. The staff here are wonderful to work with to ensure your child's academic success. Whenever additional time is needed for the student to fully understand their studies and clear up any issues, the teachers have always made time to work with my children to make sure that they get any help needed. The class offerings are extensive with many AP options. The size affords every student plenty of extracurricular opportunities on the various sports teams, band, choir, drama, and multiple art classes. Both of my children thrived here. My oldest went on to do well in college and my youngest is still a student at BD.

I have attended from kindergarten all the way up to senior year. Lots of hardworking, dedicated teachers have helped me along the way. Graduating classes are, for the most part, only around 50 kids. Everybody knows each other and it's like living in a small town in the good old days. Really my only complaint is about the administrative staff not listening to the students/families. I wouldn't say there's a bullying problem, but a lot of the time when something serious arises (in a couple of cases, sexual harassment) the office tries to downplay its severity and has repeatedly given inappropriately lenient punishments. Other times, tall or curvy girls are unfairly targeted for the dress code and can be given, again, unfair punishments for their "crime."
Still, it's a sweet school, and I built a lot of relationships and learned plenty of useful life lessons during my time there.
I am thinking about moving my kids out if district. Other schools offer more extracurricular activites, sports, and clubs. It's difficult to get much accomplished here unless you have the right last name or know someone on the school board. Even coming up with new ideas it usually generally gets overlooked. The principle is also the counselor so it's kind of a weird dynamic. Like a conflict of interest in my opinion. This district needs to do a lot of improving.
