The school has an incredibly diverse, international population and as a result, develops kindness, confidence and curiosity.
The staff team works tirelessly to ensure the children have the best experience possible and there is a grreat community feel to the school.
Children are taught a variety of subjects and use a range of teaching techniques and technology to support student learning. Additionally, there are two school counsellors and a school nurse of site as there is a focus on children's emotional wellbeing and development - not just academic.

BISW is such an incredible school. I feel really lucky every day to be apart of this community, to meet people from all over the world and connect with families and students with so many diverse experiences. This school is truly a gem in DC and worth checking out!
My daughter has been attending BISW since nursery due to our well regarded public school remaining close during the pandemic. We’re in Primary now and we simply love the school and have no plans to leave despite having a local and good public option.
Staff at BISW are competent, kind, responsive and the school is well organized. Clear and constant communication from teachers and administrators is the norm. The curricula is strong and very focused on child literacy. My child is thriving.
