COVID-19 Update for Prospective Students and Families:

As we are excited to operate as a physical school again, we understand that, despite all of our precautions, some families may be nervous about returning. We believe that sending their children back to school is a choice that must be made by families, not by the school, which is why we are offering a Virtual option also. Learn More

We are very happy with our experience at the British School Chicago South Loop thus far. Our children attend the primary (elementary) school. They are enjoying their academic studies, love the arts/music/physical education curriculum, and are amazed by all the after-school opportunities. They truly enjoy their teachers and classmates. The school appears to tackle difficult topics forthright and the communication is very good. When re-enrollement time came, the kids themselves declared that they wanted to be at this school!

Our child loves BISC South Loop and every day can’t wait to go to school. That says a lot! It was the best decision we made. We have been impressed with their ability to put into practice differentiated learning and not just say they do it. They emphasize the positive & teach the children great values & social skills. It is highly academic in STEAM, while still having art, music, language, dance and sports for all grades. Having smaller class sizes allows teachers to truly know your child's strengths & challenges. And they really do! The school is diverse & the teachers & administrators really want to be at BISC and care about the students. I feel BISC South Loop develops the whole individual—academically and socially while at the same time is warm and nurturing. It truly is a family.
My daughter has been at British International School Chicago South Loop since she was 3 years old, and it has been a wonderful environment for her. I appreciate that the school philosophy is to educate and enrich my child as a complete person, so while the academics are rigorous, it is not the only part of her life at school. There are daily opportunities for arts, sports, social development, and a really wide-ranging choice in after-school activities. The learning content is thoughtfully scaffolded so that each day she has variety, and each topic gradually builds and interconnects with her other learning. The teachers are supportive and caring, and the administration is very pro-active and approachable. The children are encouraged to work cooperatively and collaboratively with each other, which is great for facilitating lasting friendships. I am very grateful to have such an amazing educational experience for my daughter.
