If your expectations from a high school are uncovering the hidden aspects of academic potential, encouraging you to get ready for the college and then adult life, and allowing you to collect the sweetest high school memories, then Briar Woods is the only one you should choose to be a part of during the best four years of your life.
Good school in a good community with high achieving students. Fairly racially diverse but not very economically diverse.
I think in terms of the academics at Briar woods, considering the pandemic, the school is very strong. The school responded well to the pandemic and had a relatively organized 2020-2021 year. Also, the students are relatively welcoming and there isn't an absurd amount of serious in school drama. You don't feel unsafe while in the school. Most of my teachers have been reasonable and helpful throughout my years there. One criticism I have as a student is that the school spirit over the years has dwindled.
I loved going to this school for the past four years. I participated in different activities and made so many close friends that I will know for the rest of my life. The teachers always want you to succeed. The school culture and atmosphere is very positive. If you ask any kid that actively takes part in school events, they will for sure say BWOE!
My experience at Briar Woods was overall a positive experience. Although some teachers were not as good as others, the facilities and resources given to students made up for the lack in direct education. There were plenty of teachers that were very positive and gave very clear and helpful instruction. Variety of classes was vast and allowed for students to explore through many different paths.
Briar Woods High School does not only value collaboration and diversity, but also basic high standards and values for students like me. The faculty staff always have smiles on their faces and are ready to give aid and support whenever needed. The high school curriculum is efficient and allows students to set goals and high standards for themselves. In addition, all of the people around me always allow students to feel secure and safe. Respect is a quality that is emphasized and is an important aspect of my school. Briar Woods has a number of trained staff and programs, such as school counselors, who work with difficult or troubled students before problems escalate. They will spend the time necessary to understand the root of people's concerns and will be quick to safeguard our schools' responsibilities. Overall, I believe that as a school, teachers should learn alongside students and communicate with one another. We're showing vulnerability, which can help each other's self-esteem.
The staff is pretty awesome. Lots of different clubs and activities so theres something for everyone. Very diverse and a ton of school spirit!
The school is divided into many different groups making it harder to build new friendships. Overall, I like the school.
Not the best, certainly not for this area. I don’t think that I actually learned anything while attending.. There are only a handful of teachers that actually seem to care about their students education and helping the students to grasp the material. The majority of teachers are either way too focused on teaching to discipline students, or way too focused on disciplining students to actually teach… The school does a poor job of getting students to get involved or feel like part of the community. I feel like I slipped through the cracks a lot, even in activities where I did get involved and spent lots of time. Funny enough, I got to a point where by my senior year I could spend the whole day on my cell phone and teachers wouldn’t do anything about it because they didn’t care enough or in some cases didn’t even notice.
Braid Woods is a great high school! The staff and students are very friendly. The academics are great and so are the athletics! go falcons!
I think that my high school is a very nice school to go to. I believe that every kid who attends will have a very well rounded education, that will benefit them for the rest of their lives.
Briar woods is a great school where students, teachers, and staff push each other to continue to grow and challenge themselves.
Lots of wonderful opportunities to get involved. Plenty of intelligent teachers who are very knowledgeable on their field of teaching.
Briar Woods High School located in Loudoun County is well known for it's academics and sports. The staff and teachers were very understanding that we were all in times of hardships and were courteous about deadlines. Teachers were very friendly about difficulties that students were going through in their personal lives, classmates were agreeable to say the least. While the academics were good, there was a lot of drama with students but overall the four years weren't terrible.
The education I got there was exceptional. However, the overall energy of the student body was very negative and pretentious, likely due to the fact that we live in suburban hell.
I love Briar Woods! The teachers are so helpful and everyone is so friendly. The only thing that I would like to change is the safety of the school, when visitors are coming in, they should have to go directly to the office and not have access to the entire building right away.
The overall atmosphere at Briar woods is very welcoming and enjoyable. For the past four years I can’t think of any time where I didn’t have fun or didn’t want to be there. The academics are phenomenal along with their sports. Not only that, but the faculty is also amazing. It’s filled with exceptional, nice teachers and an amazing principle. There are a few things that briar woods lacks, but aside from that, briar woods is a great school.
