Brewer High School is located in a rather small town in the middle of Maine. My favorite thing about BHS is that even though we live in a rather small town there are smaller towns around us who lack a high school. Therefore, not only does BHS teach kids from Brewer they also have students from surrounding towns that attend. If I had to change one thing about Brewer High School it would have to be the fact that they don't always know how to handle certain situations. The administrators seem to prioritize catching students doing something wrong instead of helping their students solve their problems.

I have enjoyed my time at Brewer High. The majority of teachers are passionate about their jobs and want their students to be successful. I feel that there is a sense of community at Brewer, even if other schools might not think so. What I would want to be changed most would be for an additional guidance counselor or overall have the student services feel more open and available. There were times that both my classmates and I felt that we weren't getting the help we needed. Other than this, I think my time at Brewer has been a good experience.
I've gone to Brewer High for four years, and I'm graduating in the spring of 2019. Overall, Brewer is "fine." It's like every other Maine school wherein if you try, you'll pretty much be guaranteed entry into the likes of EMCC or UMaine.

There aren't a ton of APs offered, but the new online options are nice for people who can actually manage to get in. Classes range from awful to pretty good. The English Department is pretty solid overall, while there's something to be desired in the Science Department.

The food is not good. Neither is the diversity. The lunchtime fights that break out on occasion are decent entertainment.

I didn't know my guidance counselor until my senior year, but the guidance department has actually been incredibly helpful and always available to seniors. Don't expect to see them much if you're an underclassman, though.
