I am afforded an abundance of opportunities and an amazing education that not only focuses on the basic realms of teaching but goes into more depth and discovery. I am able to learn in an environment with people who are just as interested as I am. I feel lucky to be receiving a higher education at a place where I feel physically safe and am blessed to have the resources that I have, including transportation, lunch, clubs and activities to fit a variety of interests, etc. I would like to see more diversity, as I am a small percentage of colored students. Often times I feel alone and like I am unable to relate to others, isolated within the community. Despite the staff and student alliance group, it is still very hard walking around a campus where you do not look like the people around you, it can make you feel very alienated and "other". I would like to see an improvement in these aspects of diversity so that people can feel comfortable being where they are and not like an outsider.

Brentwood is an intense place. Teachers are helpful and encouraging while pushing you to do difficult work. That said, lot of time is spent doing work, and there is a very high level of stress among students. It can be a very competitive atmosphere, which at times is invigorating, and at other times scary and harmful to student mental health. The students seem to all be motivated to get good grades and take part in clubs or sports. The administration has proven to have a hard time listening to issues brought up by students and responding, but overall seem focused on the well being of the students. There is not much diversity as much of the student population is white and upper class, which feels restricting at times, while "diversity" efforts seem forced and focused on image. Overall, Brentwood has its flaws but has given me a consistently invigorating education, and I have been able to find a supportive group of friends and teachers that I can turn to when stress seems to pile up.
Brentwood school has supported me from the beginning. I have always felt happy and welcomed. The teachers all genuinely care about you, and not just your academic performance, but also you as a person. Yes, there are wealthy people at Brentwood School, but they are very low key and down- to- earth. Overall, I love Brentwood!
