I've always enjoyed a small-scale environment, which this high school definitely has! There are a little over 1,100 students, which causes advanced or specific classes to progressively get smaller. This enabled a greater connection between these teachers and their students. This school has great spirit despite its overall size and budget.
Brentsville District High School (BDHS) is a very welcoming school and made me feel like I belonged after the first week of being a freshman. I never thought I be interested of being in high school until spirit week rolled around and everywhere you looked almost every student was dressed for the spirit that day. Everyone welcomes any type of person no matter what and the teachers are always putting our interest first. Not only are the students high spirited for their school, but sometimes even the teachers can out spirit the students. Seeing how everyone gets during a time to celebrate our school made me fall more in love with BDHS. For high school being a tough time with grades it sure flew by and I know I'm gonna be a bit sad to say goodbye to all the people I've known and the great times I had there.
I would like to see more diversity at Brentsville. Although I am not completely sure of the exact percentages, the overwhelming majority of students are white. White, stuck-up, confederate-flag-holding republicans if I may. Some teachers are average, but more are poor, if not terrible. I do not enjoy the overall culture of Brentsville. Also: the HVAC system is terrible. Some classrooms have no AC, while others poor heating. Other schools in the school district have AP classes, a 500 grand piano, but nope, at Brentsville, we can’t even have a functioning heating system.
