I like Boyd Buchanan School because of the environment and the integrity of most of its students and teachers. It's somewhere that feels safe, and I know that it is home to many. One thing that I would change about Boyd Buchanan would have to be the lack of extracurriculars. Most of the extracurriculars at Boyd are sports, but I would love to see more of a variety of activities in the future. Extracurriculars are one of the biggest ways to unite students, so for people who aren't good at sports but still need an escape, there should be more of a variety of ways to connect outside of school. Personally, I think that Boyd should offer an artistic group of some sort, or a community service team!
I was new to Boyd as a sophmore. I was terrified that I would have no friends and would hate it. After I opened myself up I enjoyed it and the state-of-the-art facilities they provide; not to mention an insanely amazing lunch! The only downside is how standoffish everyone is. It's semi-understandable because these kids have been friends forever because this is a K-12 school.
All three of my students adjusted well to their new school and look forward to a new day at BBS. The school faculty is welcoming, communicate well to parents, and provide a wide range of hands on opportunities for the kids to participate in class. My kids seem to be academically growing and I love that Jesus is a part of their everyday routine. BBS provides many extra curricular activities that suit a wide range of interests, as well.
