The core curriculum at Bowling Green High School is the best in the area. The focus is clearly on academics and they expect nothing but top performance of their students in all classes, particularly the AP and Pre-AP. If your child is college bound, they need to enroll at Bowling Green High. The county schools also are good, but the curriculum is geared toward serving the masses vs. focusing on preparing your child for college. The Purple Spirit is something that you can’t ignore, once a Purple, Always a Purple, the culture is amazing!

After being homeschooled my whole life, I decided to attend BGHS my senior year to ease the transition from home learning to being in the college atmosphere. I thoroughly enjoyed my time at Bowling Green High, had a wonderful experience with all of my teachers and enjoyed all of my classes. While there, the football team and the soccer team both won the state championships and the basketball team made it to the final four of the sweet sixteen tournament. The cafeteria food would be the main thing I would say calls for improvement. Overall, it’s the best school in the region and I’m proud to have been given the opportunity to be a Purple.
Bowling Green High was sure to make sure all college-bound students were ready and confident in their transition. AP and dual credit teachers expressed desire in helping students achieve their goal of graduating and earning a college degree. Offerings such as welding, CNA, and child care were presented to students as a way to get their foot in the door for a career or as a college alternative.
