My time at Bowling Green Christian has been very good and being there for 13 years has really changed me as a person. It has made me into the mature caring person that I am today. The teachers are very good at their jobs and each class is an absolute blast with them. The student body is very close with one another and being a small school acts as a benefit to students since we all act as one big family. The schools also allow students to question faith and to learn more about it while also having fun. Plus, it allows them to interact and grow with their community. I highly recommend Bowling Green Christian to people that are looking for something that provides their kids knowledge and also true growth.

The extracurricular opportunities include: Choir, Band, Newspaper and Yearbook, Worship Team, Quiz Bowl, Lego League, Math Olympics, Gems Club, Chess Club, Student Council, and others that I am probably not aware of. I am a member of Choir, Newspaper and Yearbook, Worship Team, and Student Council. My experience has been great. I have been able to go to multiple music competitions with choir and have performed in several concerts. I have also been able to sing in small ensembles and have sung solo pieces. In News and Yearbook I am the Chief Editor and I get to write articles and help design both the paper and the yearbook. We also do some fun projects in that class. My friend and I actually got this class started. we wanted a school newspaper and thought it would be fun to have a student designed yearbook so we talked to some teachers and got it set up! Worship Team is another one of my favorite things about this school. This was also my idea. I was tired of singing along to videos in chapel and only having live worship every once in awhile. I thought it would be fun to have a student led worship team so I talked to the principal and one of my musically talented friends. We set up the worship team and held auditions. We now have a fully functioning worship team! I help to manage the group and am the lead-singer. Being on Student Council is also amazing. I started out in 7th grade as a representative. The next year I was elected President! It was a big change and really helped me gain important leadership and communication skills. In 9th grade I was given a special position of High School Advisor. I helped the new council plan events and advised the new President. I was kind of like an assistant to the adult advisor, as well. In 10th grade I was a representative again. In my Junior year, my Student Council Advisor and I worked together to create the position of Chaplain. I am now on the High School Steering Committee, working to create a separate high school council.
The school is actually inside of a church so the security is mostly the same as the church. However, we have recently installed an alarm system, a special door lock and doorbell, and an intercom system. The school doors are locked at all times and visitors need to sign in at the front desk, however due to our small size we usually know who everyone is and so this isn't always taken as seriously as it should be. We practice drills for fires, tornados, lock-downs, and emergency evacuations. The teachers receive safety training for things like school shootings. We also have regular safety inspections from the health department and fire department. There is not really an official school nurse. Our secretary serves as the nurse. Every student has emergency medical forms and permission slips for medications. There is a couch for students to sit on when they are injured or not feeling well and parents are contacted right away. As far as bullying goes, there is not a whole lot of it. However, we do not really have guidance counselors. Our Bible teacher and administrator serves as the Upper Campus guidance counselor. He does what he can and cares an awful lot about every student, but sometimes it just isn't enough. Student drama can often go beyond what the teachers see and isn't always handled in the best way. However, there is not any physical bullying going on that I am aware of. I feel perfectly safe at my school and I know that the teachers will whatever they have to do to keep the students safe.
