My experience at Bourgade Catholic High School was unforgettable. And that is what all students strive for, right? There were times where I hated being there and times where I could not imagine ever leaving. The academic level is above average, but the teachers/teaching methods are a little rusty and could use some work. Bourgade incorporates many tactics and enforces rules that prepare you for college, such as: a school-wide late work policy, strict office hours, fines, etc. There are plentiful student resources such as: Chromebooks distributed for all students, a library open throughout the day, office hours, intervention scheduling, and so much more. The community is very small and it fells like home. You get to know everyone around you.

The small, close-knit community is what makes Bourgade Catholic stand out. Rather than being another face that passes through the school, I am valued and recognized for my individuality and personal strengths. I have been given the chance the thrive academically, athletically, and in leadership. Academically, I have involved myself in AP and honors classes, and also choosing electives that personally benefit me. My classes are smaller, and have a more personal learning experience. Athletically, I'm able to thrive and be coached one-on-one. I've gotten the chance to go to state finals, as well as try new sports and still succeed in them. Lastly, my leadership skills are what have grown the most. I started as a nervous freshman lucky to be voted the Freshman Class Treasurer, to becoming Student Body President. These opportunities have made my high school experience outstanding, and I recommend Bourgade Catholic to anyone who wants their voice to be heard and valued in high school.
Bourgade Catholic is definitely better than average but not the greatest school in the world. The best thing about Bourgade is the community. The community is extremely close knit with about 400 students in total. In all honesty, the grading options for this website are very ambiguous because a majority of the learning comes from the student. The student decides if they want to learn. The school merely provides the opportunity for success which does not translate to success in of itself. The majority of the issues I have with this school are a cause of the lack of student determination. A student only gets as much as he or she puts in, and Bourgade students are not the most motivated to do things. However, the school can do very little to solve this problem. There are some administrative issues I have which involve communication oddities as well as some event issues but those are negligible.
