Not a good experience at Bourgade at all. Teachers are mediocre at best, don’t differentiate lesion or proper assessment. Assessments aren’t used to guide lessons. There’s no tutoring available or peer study groups. Some teachers don’t practice the Catholic Faith. The school isn’t diverse at all. The majority Hispanic population bullies those who aren’t the race. Administration has horrible communication and isn’t present on campus. The once vibrant, friendly community is disjointed. Teachers aren’t happy. Turnover is concerning, sometimes in the middle of the year. St Marys or John Paul II is a better option. Sadly, I don’t think Bourgade is going to be able to sustain changes in the economy.

It is a very good school with a very connected community! This school helps if students struggle in any course. Futhermore, the faculty and staff are very helpful, and understanding. They all make you feel welcomed. The students are very connected to each other and form a special bond . Everyone there is a family and community that watch each other and keep each other together.
Bourgade at its best, is a community that aspires to love its students. At its worst, it's a school that puts on a fake front. The advertising says it has a rigorous curriculum and is college prep, but this couldn't be further from the truth. The school in no way prepares its students for the rigors of college, it grade inflates to keep kids paying tuition, lacks discipline and leadership. If you want your child to get an easy A so they can graduate high school but then drop out of college, then sadly this is your place. I learned that over 70% of graduating classes doesn't stay in college past the first year and that's with over 40% attending community college.
The school gets 3 starts because I felt that the teachers really cared about the students; even love them, especially the campus ministry and theology departments. But all the love in the world doesn't teach me how to cope with the world. I feel like it just expects us hispanic kids to be mediocre so that's what they expect.
