COVID-19 Update for Prospective Students and Families:

BUA has implemented a combination of strategies to mitigate risk of transmission and respond to the health and safety needs of our community. Being part of a major research university offers significant advantages — including weekly COVID testing for all students, faculty, and staff, and contact tracing. We are confident in our protocols to mitigate risk in bringing students back to campus. Learn More

This school is like no other. Its diversity score is absent at BUA is a very diverse school. The grades are not curved, there is no painful competition between kids. Each kid has an advisor and all it takes is to keep in touch with the advisor who will go out of their way to help. BUA’s SAT, ACT scores are next to only Phillips and academically the school is at the top level. The majority of BUA faculty are PhDs, engaged with subjects at the research level.

BUA doesn’t aim at raising top athletes, rather top professionals in their fields. It shares the sports facilities with BU such as their top of the line new gym.

BUA is owned by BU - one of the top research universities in the country. Kids can take BU classes. If they maintain B average for those classes and do well on other subjects, they get accepted to BU.

In the time of COVID, the school benefited greatly from BU management and support. BUA runs its full schedule this fall. They study remotely only on Wednesday.

I personally chose this school because I thought that it was going to be the best fit for me. The academics here are wonderful and some of the teachers and faculty members are extremely supportive. The school itself and the system are really supportive and helpful and they really do care about you, and I wouldn't have chosen another school if it came down to those things. But, from being a student here, the student environment was a terrible experience for me. Maybe it's just my class but they really gave me a one-star experience. I came here happy and excited but left depressed. Most people here are so unsupportive and unkind. They do not care about anyone but themselves (the students), they will purposely spread rumors and lies about you for their own personal gain. And they also hate on others a lot. Your peers don't want to see you succeed.
It's a very tightknit community, and only as competitive as you make it. The courses are challenging, but nobody is expected to get all As here and it's only as stressful as you make it yourself. BUA's workload does, however, prepare you for college courses, especially the opportunity to take university courses in BU. There are plenty of clubs and activities, and new clubs are formed each year. Although the school is small, the art by the students are impressive. BUA does not primarily focus on sports, but its gym class offerings are fun and unique, like aerial silks or rock climbing. The teachers are helpful and the students are nice. Overall it's a great community and college-prep school.
