What I liked about Boston Community Leadership Academy when I first started was the way they are organized, by the way the teachers are with the students and that they celebrate your honors like if you have good grades like I have we will have an assembly and they will give you an certificate and you could be on he National Honor Society. I will recommend this school to people you learn a lot and there are great teachers there that will help you make your goals come true.

Throughout my 4 years of attending BCLA, I'd have to say I wasn't to impressed with the school. There was never money in the school budget, for wide variety of sports teams, no new equipment of or uniforms for the sports that we did have, no extra curricular activities, and no money for shuttle buses after school. We rarely went on field trips and the lack of organization made it hard to enjoy High School. One thing that I do enjoy about Boston Community Leadership Academy is that it made me a very responsible and independent young women, although the work is very challenging at times and the expectations are very high, it made me work harder than I ever have and more responsible that I have ever been by meeting all the requirements to move onto the next grade. Attending Boston Community Leadership Academy wasn't the worse , but it lacked poorly in other areas and that I would defiantly change.
It was understaffed because of the severe budget cut in 2015. The school was also extremely small and it was shared with another school. There were limited AP courses and after the budget cut more AP courses are underfunded and some are removed from the school curriculum. There are amazing teachers who teaches AP courses. The guidance counselors were are extremely helpful with helping for college processes.
