Boothbay Region High School is a fantastic school for a small town in Maine. As a recent graduate who is now enrolled in college, BRHS equips students for college. My classes seem easy compared to the challenging AP courses offered at BRHS.
The faculty here is fantastic. Every teacher is willing to go the extra mile to help you succeed. They are engaging, respectful of students, and push students to excel. Many come support student-athletes or coach a team themselves. They dedicate themselves to their jobs and it makes BRHS one of the top high schools in Maine.
A fantastic thing about this school system is that they truly listen to the students. Students can advocate, protest, propose changes and actually be heard. The staff and administration truly listen and want the student body's feedback. Recently, students have gotten new water fountains, received new scoreboards, changed where sport teams play games, and requested changes to graduation.

I went to Boothbay Region Elementary School for a majority of my middle school career, I was born in Boothbay and have attended one year of high school in Boothbay (Freshman year) So when I say that this school has some MAJOR issues, I know what I'm taking about. First off, there are some
great teachers, I wont deny it, but there are also some extremely lazy, terrible ones. To put it in perspective, I rarely had ANY home work my freshman year. Maybe once or twice the WHOLE year which is outrageous considering your kids may be preparing to en roll in college. The biggest problem in my mind however is drugs. If your child is interested in any drug, they can get it through this school and from their classmates. Weed is everywhere in Boothbay, and I can confirm that people in my age group and above have done cocaine. Other than this, the school is pretty mediocre. Unless you live in the town I recommend sending your child to Lincoln Academy, which is where I currently attend happily.
The small atmosphere of BRHS is very welcoming and comforting. All of the teachers are devoted to improving your learning experience and will help you in any way possible. The connections I have with students and faculty is unlike anything I've experienced. However, I would change the ranking of AP classes. Despite the difficult curriculum, I believe that they should not be weighting GPA's so much.
