There are many teachers there who teach you the reins of the real world, and really value the students.. however, much of the administration are harsh and bigoted towards difficult students. When there are students with more difficult situations, it is present that the school will take the easy route and move them to another school to be dealt with to save face.
On the other hand, the school deals with racism quite often. Our mascot is a native american. Students dress like party city natives at games, and some students even paint their skin orange or red. It's a very large issue that even the student government had tried to change, but the school "culture" remains a really big controversy.
The school has a beautiful arts program, however. Most of my best experiences were in the auditorium or art classroom. The theatre program is known as one of the more interactive and advanced in the local area!

I loved the school. Every single one of our admin was supportive all 4 years of my high school experience. No matter how long they have been there, they made you feel like you mattered and weren’t just another face. It’s nice for teachers to know you on a personal level and not just give you assignments and not care about you. All of our staff have open ears and are always there for you. Whether they need to take action in helping you or just being a listening ear. It is safe to say that I would recommend boone high school to everyone that I know no matter their background or what they believe. We have multiple groups on campus so there isn’t anyone that feels that they “don’t belong”. Everyone has a safe space. The friendships I have made along the way will be irreplaceable. We are a big sport school and have a wide variety of sports. Even if you aren’t interested in sports everyone has an after school activity on campus that interest them such as theatre or band.
There are a lot of opportunities to get involved at Boone. Everyone can find their place, whether that means being on an excellent sports team or participating in one or more of our unique clubs. Boone is unique in that it consistently has a fantastic theatre troupe and marching band. Boone also has several academic programs that career-driven students utilize. With highly renowned student government, health science, law, criminal justice, and finance programs, Boone sets itself apart as one of Orange County's best high schools.
