Booker High School is more than just a high school. It is a place where the future is grown. Through the love and passion of our proud Principal, Dr. Rachel Shelley, we are able to express ourselves, grow as individuals and gain the experiences we need to "graduate college and career ready and be productive members of society." Without her direction and caring administration, Booker High School would be just another high school. Because of the family-like environment, I absolutely love to call myself a Booker High School, Tornado!

Booker High School, from my perspective as a high school senior is exemplary on encouraging and assisting 100% of students to become college and career ready. At Booker it is a way of life and a goal for students to surpass. Booker is passionate about artistic and athletic talents. Our Visual Performing Arts (VPA) program hosts theater productions and design exhibitions. Our Career Technical Education (CTE) students become the innovators in technology. I am an Advanced International Certificate in Education (AICE) student, a program offering college credit.
Booker High School gets a bad rap in safety for being a school originally founded by an African-American educator for black students. The school has made a recent recommitment to safety, a united effort. Booker students are a family, people who have futures never thought possible.

I cannot recommend my future alma mater enough to any student looking for the next opportunity in their academic careers.
What i loved about Booker High is the facility because they help students accomplish their goals and they motivate you. Also the Visual Performing Arts program which is a mixture of talents like art, dance, theater, etc. The principal is another thing that is great about Booker High School because she works hard to get scholarships to our school and make sure everyone who graduates Booker High School is college and career ready. The safety at Booker high school is great because we have great SRO which are security guards of the school and make sure students are safe here at Booker.
